We ordered Mixing Bowl for a welcome event for 100 people and were charged $10.50 a person. The total, including the delivery fee, came out to $1200. Pros: 1. Delivery was on time 2. Food was clean and good quality. Cons: 1. Why it makes sense to charge $10.50 a person where everyone gets one 4-inch long skewer, one tiny spanakopita, one 1-inch thick vegetarian tofu wrap, and one giant cookie is beyond all of us (the organizing committee)... We organized a welcome event for a new faculty member, and were embarrassed that there was not enough food. Luckily, there was backup plan which saved the day. 2. No serving utensils (tongs, spoons, plates, serving ware) were provided. While this company is known for generating Zero Waste, it is bemusing that this apparently means serving utensils are not given. 3. On a related note, there was soft plastic cellophane which wrapped the platters, so Mixing Bowl is not actually Zero Waste. 4. There was way too much peanut sauce (two quarts) given how little tofu wraps there were. 5. The skewers, which were supposed to be vegan, had meat on them. Not to mention, I am pretty certain the tortellini had cheese (although sure, it could have been vegan.) We were surprised and disappointed again by this. All in all, the first Con really had us reeling...

You had me at bacon fried rice. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That is the most ingenious thing ever. So simple but so incredible. Why didn't someone else think of it earlier? The tasty goodness of fried rice, taken to another level with the addition of glorious, can-do-no-wrong bacon. On TOP of that... you can even pay extra to add avocado to this amazing bacon fried rice. SO now you have Bacon Avocado Fried Rice. I think I've died and gone to heaven. (Just kidding, God. I know that's not what heaven's all about) But you know what I mean. It is really good. The five spice chicken sandwich was pretty good as well. The outdoor seating is dog-friendly by the way!

I was looking for a place to grab a salad in this area and was deciding between Bakesale Betty and here. Decided to go with Mixing Bowl because it seemed healthier than a fried chicken coleslaw salad, and I'd never tried it before. I asked the cashier to recommend a salad and she mentioned that she loved the Southwest Quinoa Salad - easy. I like quinoa and I like lime cilantro dressing, so no brainer. I added the chicken per her request because I have a fear of being hungry after eating salads. Got home and overall, the salad is bigger than I thought. The spinach was really jam packed so when I fluffed it up, it was a lot of salad. HOWEVER, a few things... 1. There was a piece of paper in my salad. Obviously a mistake, but no one wants to be eating their salad and stumble across a weird texture...paper. 2. Not enough dressing. Like I said, the salad is big, and the dressing they give you is tiny. The salad felt extremely dry, especially with the chicken added. Will I come back? Probably, but not anytime too soon. I'll definitely ask for additional dressing with the hope that they don't charge additionally because the amount they give really isn't enough! And hopefully there won't be paper again in my salad....that would suck if there was.

Great place for grab & go pre-made food. Lots of salads and one soup of the day. Not much seating. They re-worked things since they first started - I don't think they prepare any food on the spot anymore. As of 4/14/17 They are still closed to walk-ins because of remodeling. No mention of when they'll reopen.

I gave a less great review a little over a month ago because of the confused young man behind the counter, but it seems like they have consistent staff now and also their "Bento Box" has become a regular thing with me: the tofu spring rolls and soba salad with a lot of cabbage and mint in it. So the five stars are really only for this bento box, b/c I haven't tried anything else. But I gotta say that I realized that whoever designed this thing is really on point. The sauces are great and once I didn't put all the candied nuts in at first and then later I realized I needed them all. It's as if the designer of this bento box really worked out the exact proportions of things to make this super tasty. Thanks!

Doesn't open on time and service is pretty slow. But when it works out the sandwiches are great.

Whenever we want a quick breakfast bite, Mixing Bowl is the place to go. They're fast, cheap, and friendly. You will not be waiting in a long line and there will be plenty of seating for you inside and outside. The place is small and the decoration is simple. I hope you give this place a try. Cheers!

I needed something quick for lunch and decided to check this place out. I had been here before they renovated and now they are focused more on catering. I looked at there refrigerated section and the Vietnamese Chicken sandwich looked appealing. When I got back to my desk, I opened up my sandwich and wished there was more veggies and chicken. The bread was big and took over the sandwich. The price on the other hand was awesome, for a drink and the sanwich it was about $6.50. I want to go back and try their salads and other options. If you are looking for a quick option in the area, this is a perfect spot.

All the baked items and sandwiches look and sound nice given their descriptions, although in my experience they've been fairly unmemorable going down. Simply OK, but not necessarily mind-blowing. Every time I've stopped by, the staff has had a rather ho-hum attitude as well. Mixing Bowl is in a cute space on a prime stretch of Telegraph, but there are many other good options in the neighborhood too. Just an average 3-star place as far as the Yelp scale goes.

We recently had Mixing Bowl cater a huge, day-long event for all 3 meals and over 600 people. It went perfectly and we have Mixing Bowl to thank, so I wrote them a love letter and here it is: Before Mixing Bowl; we didn't know how beautiful short ribs could look and taste. Before Mixing Bowl; we didn't know it was possible to revolutionize lunch food. Before Mixing Bowl; we were masters of hauling tables and chairs, instead we are now thoroughly enjoying our atrophied muscles. Before Mixing Bowl; we had to have an army of around 30 volunteers to do the job it took 3 of your staff members to accomplish. Before Mixing Bowl; we thought that all catering menus were bland and repetitive. Before Mixing Bowl; we thought that all caterers were flighty, disorganized and unresponsive. Before Mixing Bowl; we didn't know that there was such a thing as a truly FULL service caterer and one that serves others to the fullest. Mixing Bowl, you've made our jobs easier, our bellies bigger, our muscles weaker and lives better.
