Holme Estate Cellars Tasting room is a cozy and inviting spot. A most gracious wine host, Veda, shared the Australian Wine focus of Holme Cellars and we did a tasting of 3 different wines including a 2016 Rose, NV Brut Sparkling Wine and 2011 Special Release Shiraz. Veda explained that the Rose and Shiraz's were all sourced from Aussie grapes, which is reflected in both the wines and the laid back casual atmosphere or the tasting room.
Great ambience & customer service. Friendly, with no pressure. I am a bit of a wine snob, and I'm happy with the wine here. Their variety of Shiraz are especially nice. And their whites/rose are different from the typical wines you find at wineries (Chenin Blanc, and a Chardonnay that is a balance of oak & stainless steel). You can do a tasting of 3 wines for $15. Came in as soon as they open . Very knowledgeable and friendly bartender . He told us all about each wine. We did the tasting. I did the lighter one. Rose was my favorite Another person in our party did the darks. The 2013 was his favorite. Another park enjoyed the sangria. Very good . Atmosphere very nice. No crowd. .
