Awesome sushi at reasonable prices. The hand rolls in particular are great.

Bento box was plentiful! Good price for so much food. Something was missing in the flavor though. Overall experience was ok but I’ve had better. There were a few things: Not enough sauce for the katsu and teriyaki, Seaweed salad was missing something as well. Also, inside the restaurant, had a weird smell, like they mopped the floor with dirty recycled water. Outdoor seating available&that was nice. Probably won’t choose to come again. Nice server.
We stopped by on a Saturday evening, we sat by the bar, ordered a Bento box and two rolls, one was on the menu and the other one the chef (Alex) prepared for us after we told him what we liked, and we enjoyed that sushi the most, he said that it's a titanic with a little twist , the other sushi roll was great as well, everything was fresh, service was on point, they did everything on front of us, the sashimi was great too. The portions were generous , we couldn't even finish the bento between two, and took the chicken katsu to go. I'm surprised to see people think otherwise because we thought that this little "hole in the wall" was a hidden gem, if we are in the area again, we will definitely come back!

I ordered two rolls from doordash. They both didn't look like the picture. The biggest problem though was the ca roll. I ordered it specifically because they advertised that it was rolled in roe. The more expensive sushi had roe on it, so I know it was in stock, but they purposely skimped and entirely left it off the ca

Had an amazing lunch experience at Island Sushi! The bento box was absolutely killer, and the hot green tea complemented it perfectly. Delightful flavors and a satisfying meal—I was definitely not disappointed! Highly recommend it.

Do not order seafood sushi from this place. The avocado and cucumber rolls are good, but the tuna rolls and California rolls were disgusting and we had to toss. Pretty sure that was not tuna (maybe mackerel?) and the crab had gone off. Waiting for intestinal distress to ensue. Yuck.

Surprised with current rating. It's a great sushi place! The food was great and fresh, especially for Orinda. The service was also good. Overall good place and would recommend.

The service was good. I had the bento box, and the California Roll did not taste fresh at all, but everything else was good. It's a really small place, only a few tables. There is plenty of parking on the street and close to many other restaurants too.
Restaurant itself is small and kinda like a hole in the wall. Photo in my review is the takeout version.

Always good. Just wish they listened to my allergy restrictions in the order so I could eat dinner tonight.

This is, in my opinion, some of the best/consistent sushi in the tri-city "Lamorinda" area. The fish is fresh, the service is quick. Nothing on the menu really deviates from 'normal sushi menu' fare but they DO do it right. If in need of a solid sushi bar that you can depend on, time after time, even if it is DEFINITELY not exciting...this is for sure 'it'. Thank god they stopped using the styrofoam post-COVID, that part was a definite bummer.
