This is a place I always recommend to my vegan and vegetarian friends. One of my favorite things to do is order food to go and take it just down the way to Asilomar Beach! I only have great memories of Julias. I miss how it used to look inside under previous ownership, but still a great atmosphere! I'm not sure if they still have outside seating but I loved that feature as well. It's not easy to find a great vegan/vegetarian restaurant.Thank you so much for the wonderful food and service!

The absolute best vegan / veg food in the area if not the ENTIRE STATE OF CALIFORNIA! We make it a day trip each year on our annual to Big Sur every summer. Do not pass this place by, it is a total gem. Walkable from Monterey Bay Aquarium, leave your car

I accidentally stumbled upon this place and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. I ordered their breakfast pocket (hand pie) and WOW. It’s one of the best vegan things I’ve ever had in my life. They also source all of their mushrooms locally, so they’re extra good. 10/10

Everything we had was super yummy. I loved the apple, walnut French toast, the vegan eggs were impressive, the arugula salad a perfect accent. My favorite, the garlic roasted artichokes with garlic aoli ... 2 thumbs up.

Excellent vegan fare and unique dishes. The mushrooms were amazing, and their vegan cheese is top-notch.
This is a wonderful place for a vegan dinner. Anyone who eats vegan regularly knows how hard it is to find a fancier place. Julia's isnt too fancy, but its very nicely appointed. Loved the art on the walls too. I had the entre Faux Orange Chicken. Great dish, both sweet and savory. And the chocolate mousse was divine!Vegetarian options: Loads of vegan options. But also serves vegetarian.

What a great experience and perfect day to learn about mushrooms and go foraging with Julia's. If you want to understand what it takes to forage in the Pacific Coast, this is a good event to attend. They hold the events Nov-Feb(or mid March).
The offer of a 4 course pre fix menu meal was a great value and fabulous meal. Definitely want to do that again!

Amazing! Mostly vegan - I think they have a few vegetarian non-vegan dishes that could be made vegan. Lovely staff, great food, perfect ambiance, magical bathroom! (Last one sounds weird, I know, but it’s so magical!) In-house brewed kombucha was amazing, too!

Love this place so much. Best veg restaurant I've ever been to.+ SO good, mushrooms in 1000 ways and all delish.+ Crazy good kombucha, made in house. Chai is my fav.+ menu is seasonal, often foraged, and always great. this past week is chanterelle season, so they have a chanterelle and butternut squash flatbread with mushrooms.+ the bathrooms are cool as hell and every time I bring people it puts a big smile on their face, and I won't say another word about it; It's most fun to be surprised for yourself.+ It's not just a great vegetarian restaurant, it's a great restaurant PERIOD. There are a lot of things that aren't meat, I am not a vegetarian and I love this place.Only downside is I wish for some more gluten-free options; I've been many times, and sometimes there's lots and sometimes there isn't, just depending on what's on rotation. I totally get it, locally sourced menu catering to vegetarians, but it sure would make my mother happy. All things considered one of my favorite spots in the entire Monterey Bay area and a must-visit for anyone other than whole carnivores.
