Absolutely Delicious!!! ?
Seems to have had a massive overhaul over the past years because the food is now super flavorful, and the menu has expanded. I went with a friend this time and we both remarked how bland the food once was. But we were both shocked by how the creative menu options went beyond our expectations. The dishes were super flavorful, well seasoned, and extremely fresh. We both got some kind of tamale dish on a salad/ rice/ bean plate. The dressing, preparation, everything was super well executed. Generous portions compared to other veg/vegan restaurants. Also need to mention the renovation of the bathrooms…just go to the loo and you will see what the fuss is about. Parking is limited and can be a pain. Service was a bit frustrating….our server, Chad, mixed up our orders, and he seemed preoccupied with a conversation at another table, which seemed to delay the arrival of our food. Unfortunately he also looked unkempt and had very strong body odor- not very professional behavior for an older server. Otherwise we will return.
Delicious food and friendly waitress
This was one of my favorite restaurant experiences ever! I’ve been vegan for two years and my partner eats everything. Both of us enjoyed our breakfast so much we went back for breakfast the next day and got the sunrise tasting course. For $30 each, it was a steal! We left happy and full.
Wonderful, flavorful dishes and some novel taste experiences with the mushroom platter. Would highly recommend for vegans and vegetarians alike!
Very popular but a bit overrated for its bland food. The mushroom soup was the most flavorful. The other dishes were mock imitation of curry, pizza. Were recommended the donut. Ambience is is cozy hippy with a twist on the psychedelic mushrooms. Worth a visit. Repeat not sure..
THEY LOVE MUSHROOMS! This was a delightful spot with great service. It was too cold to take advantage of the outside seating - 2 wood bench seat nooks each with a personal heater wrapped in trellises and ivy. The food was delicious - perfect, fat roasted artichokes with delicious vegan aioli & a Mushroom truffle Flatbread with arugula and a tasty crust flavored with truffle salt. Only two things knocked it down from a 5 star - the location (they've done their best, but it's a crowded strip mall parking lot) and the overdressed salad. The servers were fantastic!!
Lovely restaurant. Everything was super delicious. ...and fun bathrooms!
What a pleasant surprise. Came here on Christmas day. So glad they were open when few others were not but were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Food was excellent and service warm and personable. Great selection of mushroom dishes. We ate not vegetarian yet enjoyed the dishes s much and did not miss the meat at all. This restaurant was trip highlight and I am sure we will be back.
Such amazing food and flavor. You can’t go wrong with anything you order from their menu. I was a very happy and satisfied vegan the evening I had dinner here. I can’t wait to go back.
We ate at Julia’s twice during our weekend in Pacific Grove because it’s just THAT GOOD. All of their food is vegan with the exception of two menu items. For dinner we had the tamale pie and yellow curry (which is the best curry we’ve ever had), and you must order the brownie for dessert — so decadent. We also went for brunch on our way out of town and the food continued to amaze us — the breakfast sandwich was unbelievable, as were the fried porcini mushrooms. Most importantly, the service was outstanding. Renee, our server, was so delightful and made our two dining experiences that much better.
We love Julia's! Great food, service, and outdoor tables! I got the Vegan Riita and my partner got a curry. Both delish!
Just stopped eating meat and was very worried about dining out options in the area...until I stumbled upon Julia's. THE BEST AVOCADO TOAST! I also loved the yellow curry. All the food was amazing and the atmosphere is very nice. Great surprise in the bathroom!! Haha
I absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is very soothing and the customer service was awesome. The food was amazing, and I honestly would have more if my body was allowed to. The food tasted pretty good fresh, and still tasted great when I took it to go. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody that wants to enjoy a very healthy but fulfilling meal! (The paprika potatoes and the sandwich are a combo that I'll keep coming back for)
We had tamale pie, pumpkin curry, yellow curry and roasted vegetables, with a dinner salad to share. They were all different, and flavorful. My roasted veggies were lightly spiced, and came with a thick dressing that enhanced the flavor. The 'tamale' pie was definitely not what we're used to getting at the Mexican restaurants, but yummy, and recommended They recommended mushrooms with the roasted veggies and tamale pie. What we got was for $7 a couple tablespoons of of loose orange threads, I estimate at 2 grams, on a bed of arugula. For $6 there were 6 slices of mushroom--about 2" in diameter-- buried in the tamale pie. We waited 45 minutes from the order to serving
