This place comes across as a typical bar when you enter with typical bar expectations, but the service was outstanding and above and beyond expectations. We ordered a 20 inch pizza and a couple drinks...again, excellent friendly service! The pizza was huge and also above beyond all expectations. I would venture to say it may have been the best pizza I have ever had.Walk to the back of the bar and they have a super cool outdoor seating area...a bit chilly tonight, but still, just a cool atmosphere. Hands down, one of the best Palm Desert experiences I have had in four years of visiting from MN.Will be back.

The pizza here is so delicious that (I got take-out) I literally just went to the trash can inside my hotel room and pulled out a crust my wife had thrown away and ate it- because I wanted to taste one more time how delicious the crust is. On a previous occasion, I talked with a lady at the bar (this is 95% a bar, 5% a pizzeria, like it's a sideline hobby), and she said that she makes the dough herself from scratch. I believe it. This dough is made out of love. This dough is the product of dough genius. Randomly, The Hood hands down has the best pizza you can find in the Coachella Valley.

I was there New Year’s Eve because of Karaoke. They have good IPA draft beer.The Karaoke was good too.

Posting this again because the owner took down my post.Women get drugged at The Hood Bar & Pizza constantly and no action has been taken, none ever, not even once. Ladies/gentlemen/anyone, if you decide go to The Hood Bar & Pizza for a drink just please, please be safe and DO NOT leave your drink anywhere-keep your drink in your hands and close to you at all times, I cannot stress this enough. I am not the only victim of this circumstance at this bar. I understand this can happen at any bar, but it seems to be quite the common occurrence at this one. It's terrifying... just very, very scary. Everyone please just be aware of your surroundings and stay safe if you decide to go to this bar....I really don't understand how they're still open after the multiple health violations they receive every year (proof in public documentation) and especially the fact that plenty of people fall victim to being roofied at that place. Very sad and extremely frustrating.

I've been coming here while I'm working in the area for at least four years. I love the pizza and the salads, and look forward to it every time I'm in Palm Desert. The pizzas have always been consistent, the service varies, depending on bartender. Have never had a bad experience. Beers are cheap Always am well taken care of by owner, Brad.
I was recommended the food by a friend and wanted to have a good drink and meal after work when I went it was a very good ambience but the bartenders were one of the worst ones in Palm desert. Theyre customer service is very poor they had no customers when I asked for a drink and he was very rude about it and said to give him a minute while he was on his phone meanwhile his coworker was in the back just texting as well. Their clothes as it is, nowhere near professional, they're not friendly at all, they don't offer even a smile. I feel sorry for the owner that his workers don't look like they want to sell or even earn a good tip. Very disappointed.

One of the worst places around the local area. Read the reviews, everyone was right about the black guy bartender, an excellent example of what a horrible employee is. If management still has him working there, what does that say? Asked him if I can get a water, and his response? He said he doesn't serve non-alcoholic drinks and walks away. After some words, he had a confrontation with me. This is what customer service has come to. The guy literally cannot do his job, not sure if this is racially motivated or what. BTW, other bartender, caucasian guy, he was spot on. Service was quick and easy.

Cool dive bar, enjoyed on a couple slower weeknights. The blonde lady bartender was on top of it. Inside bar, outside area you can bring your drinks to, several pool tables, and a stage for dj's or bands. Nice location.
