Their breakfast bar is still suspended, yet their salad bar is on like it used to before corona started? Blehhhh, ughhh, lame...

The 2 stars is for curbside pick up. When going in-store, I have always experienced amazing customer service. With curbside pickup at this Whole Foods, its hit and miss. I felt like I did all the steps for a smooth transaction: checking in 10 min early in app, indicating which spot I was in after parking, and clearing my backseat since there is no room in my trunk which is full due to moving house back to palo alto. I noticed an associate was outside standing near the curbside pick up area, put on my mask, and greeted him with a hello after rolling down my window. His response was simply "name for the order" which I provided and asked him to put my order in the backseat. He flat out refused and told me that I could load my groceries then because he didnt want to breathe the same air as me. He was beyond rude throughout our entire interaction and needless to say I wont be coming back here. I cant help but think if I looked different, I would have been treated differently by this associate. This use to be my favorite Whole Foods, but I'd rather spend my time and money elsewhere.

I currently have a goal of trying to get to every Whole Foods in the Bay Area. We were in the area, so we decided to get some items and lunch here. First, long wait due to COVID, which is fine. However, once you're inside it's actually rather small and customers seemed to not care whatsoever about the tight spaces and would get within an inch of you. It has most of the items present at Whole Foods locations, but a bit less due to the size. Overall, an older looking Whole Foods location, but still has the quality product, so there is that at least. Overall, a nice spot.

The manager outside of the front door last night who was in charge of letting people in definitely abusing his powers. It was 5 min left till closing and there were some ppl waiting to get into the store. He started to tell people not to form a line and that he is only letting two more ppl go in in the next 2 min. So I left my spot in line to go to my car. My car was parked right in front of the store so I saw that this so called manager was letting ppl go in way past 9pm and when I walked back and asked him to go use the bathroom he would not let me go in even though I was already standing in line before. Then when I was walking back to my car for the second time he started yelling to tell me that I can go in now. I shop in Whole Foods for like since they first opened and spend thousands of dollars for someone who does not know what he is doing to give me permission to use the restroom. When I told him that, he started saying "don't do this on the holiday." What kind of idiots to put it politely you have working here.

We tried a beef and chick, with black beans, Spanish rice, onion, sour cream, and lettuce burritos from this place Taqueria and were very satisfied. The serving was also on the generous side and lucky enough we were hungry on that occasion.

The nuts were rancid, the chips were stale, the shallots were rotten, and sadly the organic chicken made me sick. I spent $76.

This has been the market I have mostly used during this pandemic. They have done well in spacing people outside of the market in lines and allowing the number of people in the store at one time. The aisles are narrow and people don't really follow the one-way guidelines. But all the employees are wearing masks, shields are up at check out stands and there are wipes and hand sanitizer available upon entry. Friendly staff.

Cashier refused to give the receipts, claimed it was already given. The debit card record showed $171 charged but I only spent $30. Only bought ceramal, 3 peaches, 5 tomatoes, 3 persimmons, milk, and some other stuff. ANY EXPLANATIONS??? --- update 9/16 The customer service is very nice and promised to refund.

I have used the curbside Pickup option twice this week (free but requires prime membership) at this location and the service is honestly a game changer for me. Makes grocery shopping a lot less stressful during COVID...associates are always courteous and wear a mask when I arrive to pick up my order. The pickup parking spots are not that easy to find for a first timer but they've designated the first two spots in the parking lot that you can't see until you exit the lot on Emerson. Placed my order on Amazon, checked in when I left home and arrived during my pickup window. Someone was waiting with my groceries in the parking lot when I arrived. Zero wait and they also loaded them into my car. Plus if anyone else has concern with the amount of coolant/packaging used for grocery delivery, FYI they use a lot less packaging for pickup orders (only brown bags, they do not put items in the freezer bags because the items are probably stored at temp until you arrive)

Thought it'd be nice to show some homemade recipes instead of the typical "here's what the inside of a grocery store looks like"- just to give you a sense of the breadth a place like this can give you! Made kimchi fried rice and a coconut chiffon cake entirely with ingredients bought at this whole foods! Very easy to find all the ingredients I needed, even though the best option would have honestly been a 99 ranch to get the ingredients for much much cheaper (hence the 4 of 5 stars rating, not for this whole foods in particular but in general for the whole foods chain). In any case, here are the recipes for the pictured items- again, all the ingredients are available at this whole foods- the items that justify the cost are specifically the eggs (for which you really can taste the quality of the egg compared to average eggs you'd buy at costco). If you can, try to get kimchi at a korean supermarket, so it can be the large jar that is the best deal around. The best option for the large jar of kimchi is to (pro-tip alert!) get a bunch of smaller mason jars and split up the kimchi so it doesn't rot. It's also important you never double dip the kimchi jar- ie make sure you take out as much kimchi as you need per sitting into a clean separate bowl, as opposed to sticking chopsticks in your mouth each time you eat a bite, then going back into the jar- gross! You'll only infect the jar with the teeming bacteria in your mouth! Finally, a note on the chiffon cake- make sure you whip the meringue well, preferably with an electronic mixer if you have access to one. That or incredibly strong forearms. Kimchi fried rice (recipe is from NYTimes) INGREDIENTS 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 small onion, medium dice 1 cup roughly chopped kimchi (6 ounces) 2 tablespoons kimchi juice, or to taste 1/2 cup small-dice Spam, ham or leftover cooked meat 2 cups cooked, cooled rice (preferably short-grain) 2 teaspoons soy sauce, or to taste 1 teaspoon sesame oil, or to taste 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 4 eggs Salt to taste Green onion for garnish PREPARATION In a nonstick sauté pan or well-seasoned cast-iron skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat, and add onions. Cook, stirring, until the onions start to sizzle, about 2 minutes. Add kimchi and kimchi juice, and stir until it comes to a boil, about 3 minutes. Add Spam, and cook until sauce is nearly dried out, about 5 minutes. Break up the rice in the pan with a spatula, and stir it to incorporate. Turn heat to medium. Cook, stirring, until the rice has absorbed the sauce and is very hot, about 5 minutes. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Taste, and adjust with more soy sauce, sesame oil or kimchi juice. Turn heat down slightly, but let the rice continue to cook, untouched, to lightly brown while you cook the eggs. Place a small nonstick sauté pan over medium heat, and add the vegetable oil. When it is hot, add eggs, season with salt and fry to your desired doneness. Serve rice topped with fried eggs, nori and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Ingredients CAKE LAYERS: 2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon table salt 1/2 cup canola oil 5 large eggs, separated, at room temperature 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar Shortening COCONUT-MASCARPONE FILLING: 1 (8-oz.) container mascarpone cheese 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup whipping cream 1 (6-oz.) package frozen grated coconut, thawed WHITE CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING: 1 1/2 (4-oz.) white chocolate baking bars, chopped 2 tablespoons whipping cream 1 cup butter, softened 3 cups sifted powdered sugar, divided 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 cups sweetened flaked cocon How to Make It Step 1 Prepare Cake Layers: Preheat oven to 350°. I love the store and all its employees! However they lose one star after what I saw today. I saw an employee lift up the lid to the Olive bar and spray cleaner liberally on the plexiglass however he neglected to cover the olives underneath allowing cleanser to fall on them. Though I appreciate the immense efforts in disinfecting the store, this is really disgusting.

Only taking off a star because the price is so much more expensive than the Trader Joe's in town and country. The quality is not arguably that much better than Trader Joe's. To be fair, both these stores operate on a whole other level of freshness compared to Safeway. Posting a photo of the beautiful red roses they sell here- yes there is a vivid filter on this photo to make the red really pop, but the quality of the roses is really undeniable! Other than the flowers section, my favorite is the Urban Remedy selection, as well as the dried fruits and nuts section. So delicious!

I like this WF a lot. It's probably my favorite on the peninsula, but they're all good. Here's why I deducted two stars: Yesterday, when I checked out, I got this sullen, young guy. When I got up to him, he did not make eye contact with me once. He looked straight down, or off in the opposite direction... even when he handed me my change. He could barely bring himself to utter the dollar amount in my direction. Look, I get it. I'm a repulsive, old 61 YO woman with bad hair and uncool clothes. I know how hard that must be for him. But we've all had entry-level jobs, dude. When I had mine, many years ago, every customer got a smile and great customer service. Because it was expected. I'll be back, but will avoid his line.

I love Whole Foods. So many options, and fresh organic and conventional produce and products. This particular WF is super convenient, so it's always a go-to for me. Although on the smaller side of some of the other ones, it still has a great deli, hot bar, bakery, sushi bar, and ample cheese and wine section. I will say since the Amazon takeover there have been some changes. Unsure if the moral has gone down a bit, or they are just working out the kinks. Some items don't seem to be restocked as often, and some favorites are no where to be found. As fondly referred to as "Whole Paycheck", that may be true of some items, but there are still plenty of goods/produce that are on par with or less costly than their counterparts.
