What a lovely place! I enjoyed the delicious food and extensive menu. The chicken fajita quesadillas were especially delicious and the staff were very friendly.

I come here every year the day after thanksgiving when I’m in town. It never disappoints! Saul and the entire staff make sure you have a great experience and they are the kindest people. The food is good, service amazing, and at a reasonable price.

Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. Amazing food. My family had brunch at Downtown Cafe. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us. Highly recommend the Carnitas Eggs Benedict. Absolutely delicious!!! We will be returning.

Downtown Cafe is a brunch spot located right on Main St in Pleasanton. We stopped by right around noon on the weekend but there wasn't any wait. I ordered a California bagel, which was filled with scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, and a few slices of applewood smoked bacon. The bagel was very lightly toasted on the outside but not on the inside, which I didn't mind - meant that it was warm and had the characteristic chew of a bagel without becoming a bagel chip. There was also a small fruit bowl of cut cantaloupe, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, grape, and orange on the side. Overall, decent sandwich, but I did feel like the price was a bit steep at around $20.

Very attentive staff. Excellent food quality, taste, and presentation. A number of Egg Benedict options on the menu. Great coffee and Orange Spice Tea.

Good food options, especially the breakfast items. Got a veggie skillet with English muffin. Visited with a friend. We enjoyed the food. The staff was attentive and nice. We got our food in a good amount of time. Nice place overall. There is outdoor seating but we were inside to talk while eating. The interior reverbs the sound so much that it was heard to hear each other without raising our voices which only adds to that problem.

My first and last visit here. I really wanted a birthday mimosa, and a flight seemed perfect. That's about where perfect stopped. The mimosas were decent. I got guava, grapefruit, hibiscus (typically a favorite but SO sugary), and mango (the best of the bunch). I was dining outside with my dog, ordered the avocado toast (and by saying that I literally mean ONE skinny soggy piece of bread) with bacon(completely burnt, not crispy BURNT) & hard boiled egg ( & either the smallest egg ever or 1/2 a hard boiled egg)) - keep in mind, this on the menu. Not something I special ordered. Oh and I ordered a side of bacon for the dog which was a $5 side of 3 strips of burnt barely edible to a dog bacon. $40 for the worst birthday breakfast in history, only salvaged really by going to the pastry shop next door afterwards for amazing pastries and mimosas - note to self, start there next time and avoid here. Three stars only for the service and the couple decent'ish mimosas.

Be prepared for a Loooong wait. The omelet was good and the French toast was good, but that is where it ended. We waited for 35 minutes after being seated. Then another 25 minutes for food. Had to flag down the waitress for a check. We received water when we arrived but no refills offered. The hasbrowns were burnt so bad they were black on both sides. Floors and tables are also sticky

We came here for Mother's Day brunch and were surprised it wasn't that busy given that I think it's fairly new. - Slow service with little to no communication.- Water glasses all had lipstick on the rims.- Raspberry iced tea tasted like water with a splash of cranberry juice.- Menu special: California Bagel was so bland. The egg was like jelly, the bagel was barely toasted and almost soggy. The bacon was one lonely sliver that didn't even cover the bagel.- Salmon toast you'd think would be like lox, capers and veggies on a thick piece of toast. It was a slab on heavy salmon served on a barely toasted piece of wheat bread that was thin and soggy. Not the best experience and wouldn't go back.

Downtown cafe is a Mexican diner doing its best to appeal to its surrounding area. A single diner in a street drowning in options. Upon entry it seems like a typical American diner. However upon further inspection you notice the menu is Mexican. The food was fair. It has a Mexican style that's catered more towards white folks.Upon arrival my GF and I were seated, drinks ordered, then we saw nobody come back for about 25 mins. Not even joking. The waitress and waiters passed by us at least 7 times that I counted. The owner/manager ended up mixing up our drink order and bringing us double drinks (and charging for it) despite us trying to clarify it for him. When the food did finally arrive it was mediocre at best.I got the G.G. omelette and the chicken inside was flavorless. The veggies were fair. Bacon okay. Egg definitely overcooked. My hash browns were good, but it's hard to mess that up honestly. The toast was dry and no butter to be seen to liven it up.My mimosa for $8.75 was about 7 oz of lemonade/wine. Not worth it tbh. It seems the mimosa flight is the better option for $18.My gf got french toast, she had no complaints, but said it was fair. All in all our waitress came by twice. Once for the food drop off and once for the check.I'm hoping they were just busy or understaffed because we waited almost 30 mins for our order to be taken just to be served mediocre food.

Ordered the stuffed omelette croissant but the croissant is way on the oily side. Inside the croissant the omelette part is nothing special but has a plain taste. I ordered chicken sausage so glad it brings some flavors. The hash brown is a bit burnt and I can taste the bitterness out of it. Overall the dish to me is okay.

I saw a 1-star review from another Yelper who, like me, has many food allergies. Downtown Cafe doesn't have many options for those of us who can't eat the top 8 allergens (milk, eggs, seafood, nuts, wheat), BUT they do have sides. Let's be real, if every breakfast menu was rated by consideration for the top 8, 99.5% of restaurants would only get 1 star. Downtown Cafe doesn't deserve that. My fellow food allergy sufferers, order sides like you do everywhere else.I had avocado, beans, turkey sausage, a cup of fruit, and a Mexican mocha with soy. The avocado portion was very small at about a fourth of an already small avocado, but it was bright green, spotless, and perfectly ripe. The beans were SO GOOD. I stopped the waitress to ask what was in them, and she confirmed they're a little smokey because they're made with bacon fat. Side note, dairy-free people, be sure to order the beans without cheese. The turkey sausage patties were pretty good, just a tad overcooked and tough. The flavor was great though, so I'd order them again. The cup of fruit was good quality, but the portion was very small. Next time, I'll probably order double fruit and double avo. The Mexican mocha with soy was absolutely delicious; I enjoyed it so much. Dairy-free people, be sure to order it without whip.My husband had a chorizo burrito with potatoes, banana bread, and black coffee. He said he'd give it 4 stars and would come back.As a bonus, the service is fast and friendly. We came in painfully hungry and had our food served within 10 minutes. Can't wait to come back!

I'm a somewhat regular customer coming about twice a month. Its a great place to go with a group of people. Most of the time there is a band playing. There is space to dance and the food and drinks are good. If you go ask for Brittany as her service is top notch! She is always friendly & greets you with a smile. Unlike some of the other servers there I get the impression she loves her job & is happy to be there. 10 stars for Brittany.
