This is a very good place just around the downtown of San Mateo. It's in the historical part of the city which gives a very pretty vibe and there are bunch of really amazing restaurants and touristy spots around this place. The best thing you would like about this place is that it is Built and conserved as a historical Cafe. Well, don't only get confused by just a coffee or drinks. There deserve a full course of food like appetizers, snacks, salad sandwiches soups so it's definitely a great spot for food as well. The only thing I can talk about which is difficult to get parking so you probably have to park somewhere and walk down the street to get there but the service was amazing. Coffee was delicious although they had to redo my coffee because I ordered for Arun milk cappuccino and they just made with the whole milk Than that, everything was great. Would love to visit them again at some point..

I ordered the California scramble. I always give my honest opinion when leaving reviews. Not to slander any place, but to give real feedback. The scramble was just OK. There is nothing special about it. There was not too much flavor to it, so I was disappointed, really. Then I tried the hashbrowns. They were super salty. Something I really don't enjoy is over salted or sweetened foods. The French toast my son ordered was more decent than my order.I'm not sure if I'll go back to try something different because I am normally not in this area, but was for the day for a hike. The cafe itself is super cute, and I loved the outdoor seating area. This area, in general, is a nice walk.We didn't get any of their pastries because we opted out for a vitality bowl instead. But, it would be something I would like to try IF I ever go back.Parking: Pay at station with spot #$1/hour is not bad at all.

I have been here twice. It's become one of my favorite spots for brunch/lunch. I love the beet salad. My friend loves the California Omelet. The staff is friendly, the serive is quick and the view of the courtyard palm trees is very calming. I look forward to my next visit!

My kids and I grabbed lunch here after a matinee movie and it was good! The kids shared a BLTA sandwich which game with a yummy, simple side salad of greens, good balsamic dressing, and olives. Getting over a hoarse voice, I had a cup of the lentil soup with sausage which was a generous portion and game with 4 small slices of sourdough bread with butter (which I shared with my kids). I'd love to try their pastries and coffee drinks next time!
We have been coming here for years. The food is always good ... but portions have gotten smaller or items like side salad are no longer included. The wine is good, nice sized pour. Dessert case is full of Delights- a big variety. No pastries like cinnamon roll. You order at the cash register and get a number, take the number to your selected table. Outdoor seating on front patio is available. Across from movie theater, and a short walk from historic Museum, event stage in the summer. The pandemic was hard on this area, we are so glad that many restaurants survived , but it still seems subdued and servers don't seem glad to see anyone.

2 stars because of the spacious set up and friendly folks but the baked goods were terrible. We got the Boston cream cake which ended up being Sarah Lee box cake with fake stale custard. The lemon tart looked great but tasted off. The meringue was a cheap icing substitute, the crust was soaked in a sugary pool of syrup, and it was weirdly lined with white chocolate. I'm all for supporting small businesses but they very obviously use cheap substitutes for their baked goods. Save your money and go elsewhere.

worst coffee you can, tasted like a bitter medicine. food is lacking any flavor and overpriced. its not enough to name a place with a french name, they really need to put at least some effort to stand out. lets start with coffee and food.

Honestly so delicious, with really nice staff. The vibes inside are so peaceful, perfect for doing computer work. They have multiple dairy free milks, my oat milk latte was pretty and delicious!
