We just came here and the food was not good at all. The food was very dry no seasoning. I won’t go back here.

Take out only. I received the wrong order, and it's pathetic. Friend won tons over crispy and minimal, chicken old. Manager was dismissive & a liar, I left. AFTER I PAID. They need the donation. For $25 that was disrespectful, I can see why it's so run down.

Warning …I pulled up to this restaurant I saw the chef outside, cutting his toenails. I went to the door to order my food. Another guy took my order and then the chef came from in front of the building after cutting his toes, went and grabbed a plate and my order and started making my food without washing his hands after he just finished cutting his toenails this place is disgusting. The chef is disgusting for not washing his hands.

Craving for salt and pepper pork chop. Been ordering here for years now. They have the best s&p pork chop ever! And I eat everywhere. Not only that fried rice, chowmein are one of the best too. Flavorful and balance. Ordered online for delivery it came pipping hot since they deliver personally which is amazing. Good job chef chen!

I just finished shopping at the Sequoia Station Safeway when I gave Chef Chen’s a call and placed an order at 8:40pm (they close at 9:00pm). I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup and Sauteed Prawns which the man on the phone said would be ready in 10 minutes. I was maybe a mile away and got there in 4 minutes and to my surprise the order was ready! Both dishes were excellent – the vegetables were fresh and crisp and overall excellent. I go there maybe 10 times a year and have never been disappointed. Chef Chen’s is my go to Chinese restaurant in Redwood City.

The boyfriend and I always wanted to try out this spot because we live just next door. Passed by it a few times when we would run errands and see a good amount of people every time. One day the bf was craving some Chinese food and decided why not give this place a try. Ordered some lunch plates before 3pm because it's a little cheaper. Ordered orange chicken w/rice, beef broccoli with chow mein for an additional price and eggplant for around $40. Thought it would have been cheaper. Everything we ordered lacked flavor. Tasted bland and needed salt, msg or something. We had leftovers because we weren't too impressed.

This is my family's go to Chinese restaurant for the last like 7 years. They are always so nice, the food is always delicious, and they always get the order perfect. I really like this place and highly recommend!

Excellent, made-to-order, wholesome Chinese food to go only. This is a unassuming hole in the wall kind of place, but the food is really good. I get lunch here at 2 or 3 times a week as I work close by. Great lunch specials, excellent value. Definitely a hidden gem.
Hole in the wall for sure. This place was DELICIOUS and their portions are very generous. Service was good, fast and efficient. Everything tasted so fresh and was bursting with flavor. It definitely satisfied my craving for some good ol' greasy Chinese take out.

Ambiance: this restaurant seems to be only for carry out or delivery. No indoor seating available, just as a fyi. Service: quick, no frills service. They have a menu posted on the door when you walk up to order. I think their specials change on a rotating basis. Food was prepared in less than 10 minutes after ordering for me. Food: just as you would expect. Most of the menu items are standard Chinese American dishes. The price is somewhat on the pricier side as dishes will run you -12-15$ but I think they do a decent job of giving adequate portions, as it will probably feed average person 1-2 meals. Ive only tried their walnut chicken, which satisfied the craving. Nothing too special to write home about. Some of the chicken pieces were too doughy, but it tasted freshly prepared.

They must of gotten new owners; the meat and fish dishes lack meat or fish now. The Mango or Papaya Beef was mostly fruit. The Walnut Chicken must of been old for them to literally add mayonnaise to top it off. I took both dishes back. I ordered combo Chow Mein that had sparse meat in it. I ordered the Seafood and veggies, but it was all veggies. I haven't gone back since. My roommate and I use to go there when we wanted Chinese food since it is so close to where we live. Not anymore since ownership changed; something changed!

Pot stickers were deep fried and ended up soggy and lukewarm. Probably good they were small! Beef chow fun was actually good and a large portion which I couldn't finish. Menu is hit and miss but you can count on their chow fun which comes in veggie, pork, beef or chicken and at 11 dollars is a full meal for anyone.

Hole in the wall place. Food is delicious compared to some places in San Carlos /Redwood City. I'm use to good Chinese food in Sf. This by far is good. One complaint is that pricing for hole in a wall food chow mein since COVID has gone up. $13 for chow mein $13 for sweet sour. I guess it's understandable due to "inflation" so I give it four stars for minimal customer service, pricing. Just order and speak loud and clear otherwise you'll have a back n forth convo and won't get your order right. LOL
