This place is worth trying. They have big portions for convenient rates. Always well kept and with great ambience. I highly recommend this place.

I have been here multiple times because I live in RWC and I keep wanting to like this place, and there are only so many options in downtown. However, each time I have gone and sat at a regular dining table, the service has been atrocious. Three times now - not an isolated incident. Without fail, there is some sort of delay or problem with the order, the wrong food is brought out, and just general bad service. I've sat at the bar a few times to eat. This is the way to go because the service is fine at the bar. And the food is fine too. But I won't be back after my last experience. They just don't seem to be able (or care) to get their act together.

Made Valentines reservations for the wife and I. Get to the restaurant and no hostess. Couple mins pass and she finally comes and asks if we made reservations. We said yes and then she starts to say she was canceling all reservations. We look at her confused and then she says they can't serve us. At first we thought this was a joke but then she said something about being short staffed and people who came earlier are still waiting for their food. That sucks but why didn't they notify all reservations as soon as they found out? Where's the customer service? Any communication is better then no communication. Could've emailed, called, sent smoke signals..something...Made us drive all the way out to Redwood City, find parking and walk to the restaurant to s*** the door in my face? On the most booked day of the year? They could've gave everyone the heads up so we can make other plans. Asked for recommendations and she said she didn't live in the area. It was cold outside so we tried calling some restaurants but no dice. She then offered that we can sit at the bar and order some drinks while we look for a restaurant....no thanks. We ended up walking the street and although the first couple restaurants couldn't accommodate us, we found a gem across the street called LV Mar.

Something has changed ... booths are gone and replaced by tables for two and are all close to each other. Good thing we enjoyed the folks at the table next to us for some conversation and quite frankly some shared complaining. First off, way too bright for a restaurant that I think has an attractive interior and typically has been darker and carried an ambience that was romantic, quiet, and felt special. This has been in my opinion a really nice restaurant in the past- what has happened? Valentines Day was a preset Menu at $79 per person for a starter, main course and dessert. I wasnt expecting a preset menu but it was fine. At 6pm when we arrived only a few tables were taken but by 6:15 or so almost all were filled and thats when problems started. We waited an hour for our salad, we received our main dish at 8pm (2 hrs after our 6pm reservation) even after having to get up from the table and go over to our waiter who is schmoozing at the bar asking him where is our food! Our bottle of wine we brought was gone by the time our main course arrived. No one ever came by to refill our water glasses and no one ever checked in on us to see how everything was. We didnt even ask for our dessert because we just wanted to leave. When we arrived playing was loud disco music ! Disco- really !?!? Guys its VDay! Then switched to no music for about 45 min and then on came some nice jazz. Weird. Waiters attire was horrible- jeans and a plaid /flannel untucked shirt. Honestly, the bus boys were better dressed and looked classier! This experience was awful and nothing like what I have experienced there before several months ago and most especially when the restaurant was called something else a couple years ago.... you couldn't beat the hospitality of Jacques the maitre'd and Michael the bartender! Sorry Courthouse- i really dont see me coming back here again.

We came to this restaurant on Valentine's Day. The cost of dinner per person is 78 dollars, +% 20 service and + tax. The food was terrible, the choice is very poor. Service more than horrible, everyone waited a very long time and resented. The evening was ruined. I do not recommend, choose another place, save your time and money. Horrible! Lost time and $248.

But that wasn't all. Our group of 8 arrived fairly early, at 6 pm, to a mostly empty restaurant. The one server was overwhelmed, and it took the kitchen way too long to prepare our entrees. In addition, I think a $69 steak should perhaps include a baked potato or something.....but everything is a la carte. But perhaps the worst part was the prolific cigar smoke throughout the restaurant from the Cigar Bar located right next door. Although I understand this isn't something the restaurant can control, they had the front of the restaurant wide open, which made it worse. Summary, too slow, too expensive, and by the end of the night, my throat was sore from breathing in the smoke.
I came stopped in and ordered a Hendricks martini stirred with a cucumber. The bartender made me a Hendricks Martini shaken with an olive. How do you get almost every part of my order wrong? In addition to this he barely strained the ice so I was chewing on chunks of ice as I was drinking it. Literally the worst Martini I've ever had.

We came here for New Year's Eve dinner and it seemed they were still working the kinks out of their system. Our dinner came sporadically, some dishes were served before we were even done with our appetizers and others were served a full 10 minutes after others had already been served. The food was good, we like the flatbread and the steak was well prepared. There is no changing table in their restrooms however. There is no option but to change a diaper on the floor of a restroom, yuck. Downtown RWC has become quite family friendly and this isn't a family friendly restaurant without a changing table. You cant take care of a basic human need in a clean environment.
