Nice, clean, wanna come back environment. The food is fresh, wonderfully prepared. I have never left there hungry, Aky is very friendly and makes me feel singled out and special every time I go there.
I've had several meals from Aky's, and they've all been delicious! I'm normally not too impressed with vegetables, but the little roasted peppers that came with several entrees were so full of rich, savory flavor that they blew me away. So far, everything I've tried has been absolutely amazing! Can't wait for my next meal from Aky's!
Mo and Aky run a true Mom and Pop restaurant in Point Richmond. Aky is a great cook and both are great people. You can expect to be greeted and pampered. Aky's Cafe is not about making money. Both Mo and Aky are all about giving. Mo plays his piano and it's relaxing like you are their guests at their house.
We loved Aky's Café. We stopped in for lunch during the pandemic. We ordered take out and they offered to seat us at a table on the sidewalk. It seemed safe because no one else was sitting there. We enjoyed our lunch. Great Greek salad, really good dressing. And we had an Italian sausage and provolone sandwich. The focaccia that the sandwich is on was crunchy and not too bready. We would come back here, for sure.
Nice quaint restaurant, it reminded me of a home, miss matched tables and chairs, pillows on the benches to sit at, very welcoming and comfortable. I had heard of this place from several coworkers and suppliers that this place was really good. I finally had the time and opportunity to go. I went in around 10:30am and I was just a bit too early for the lasagna she was putting together for lunch. Aky said I could get the spaghetti with the same sauce with a side salad. Oh my was I pleased, the food was amazing and well priced for the quality and quantity. The only mistake I made was ordering the fresh squeezed orange juice, it was very good, just enough pulp, but it didn't pare well with the vinaigrette dressing. I just drank the juice after I finished my salad and ate some of my bread. I will be returning but just a little later in the day to be able to sample from the whole lunch menu.
This place never fails to deliver. They serve awesome food for reasonable rates, there are no long waits even when the spot is full.
What an atmosphere! It's a tiny hole in the wall with some attractive signage and some of the friendliest staff I've ever had the immense pleasure of meeting. The sandwiches were well-made, the prices are excellent and our catering order was filled with such enthusiasm. Let's be honest, sandwich spots and cafes are everywhere, but our favorites are always the ones we feel most welcome and comfortable in. And this is a 5 star cafe from the old world.
If being called “sweetie” or “honey” bothers you, then avoid this place. Everyone else: If you’re in Point Richmond then give this place a try! Excellent specials, especially the roasted chicken and vegetables. Greek salad was great and there are plenty of cookies to choose from, too.
We walked here from the Hotel Mac in downtown Point Richmond; being in a tiny walkable downtown is itself a rare pleasure. The moment Aky unlocked the door at 8:00 AM we felt we had arrived at a friend's home. Our breakfasts were fairly conventional - bagel and lox [with a small green salad- sort of a garnish, very good] and quiche Lorraine. Best though was the proprietors' conversation. I would not hesitate to recommend this un-stuffy cafe for breakfast .
Absolutely delicious, home-cooked food, delightful owners, and a cozy atmosphere. My brother, who works in the area, was so excited to show us his favorite restaurant to go to for lunch while we were visiting and have us meet Aky. The veggie sandwich was SO GOOD - it's easy to tell that Aky loves what she makes. Next time we're back in California, we'll definitely be back!
Great place with delicious food and wonderful customer service. The owner, Aky, is warm and welcoming.
So I happen to stop by this literally hole in the wall Cafe in Richmond trying to find a detour. I accidentally took a wrong turn and I saw this cute little cafe. Aky's Cafe. I was already annoyed and super hungry, so why not. Menu was perfectly basic. Top of the breakfast menu was the Spencer's special. Croissant with egg, cheese and bacon with a side of Potatoes.
Super personable family owned business. Very friendly, courteous.
Went there for dinner and had the freshest and most delicious Mediterranean food I have ever tried. Their hummus, baba ganoush, beef patties, salad and salad dressing, lentil salad, tabouleh, stuffed peppers, chicken, rice, etc. etc. were truly amazing. Our friends have been there for lunch and raved about their food as well. Highly recommended!
This place is a gem in Point Richmond. Focaccia is perfect and cooking is like something your mom would make. Straightforward cafe food in a eclectic cafe and staff are very accommodating and friendly. I just wish they were open for dinner or on the weekends for Point Richmond residents.
