Best fried chicken sandwich in the Bay Area. I tried every single place I could within a 10 mile radius and found Fowl + Fare as a popup in a bar a mile away from me in Oakland, so I went almost every week. Then they moved into a new location in Alameda, and now I commute on the bus for 45 minutes every week just to eat here. You will be truly awestruck at its deliciousness (get the Citric Hot Sandwich). Though the sandwiches are well-sized, you will still be upset you didn't order two.

Not only is this the best fried chicken I've ever had, it's imo some of the best food in the bay overall. Every sandwich is worth trying but my go to classic is citric hot. And with the seasoning they have the fries are also a must. So glad they're still around and kicking.

My favorite place for citric hot. I crave the taste every week and nothing else can satisfy it..i find myself making the 40minute trip every week and paying bridge just to get this amazing sandwich. It is so worth it. I highly recommend trying it. It Has the perfect amount of zest and tangyness. The flavors blend in so well and the heat adds the perfect touch. Love fowl +fare ❤️

We're thrilled to have discovered this gem in Alameda. We indulged in two of their special biscuit chicken sandwiches, and they were a delight. The chicken had just the right amount of spiciness, paired perfectly with the ideal ratio of gravy to biscuit, resulting in an outstanding fried chicken sandwich experience. The biscuit itself was flawless. Even the kids enjoyed splitting a non-spicy chicken sandwich and raved about it. We'll definitely be returning for more

The scrumptious chicken thigh + perfect breading + delectable pear slaw + mixture of dry rub & sauciness... Such a well done chicken sando, period!
