This was my first time here.We got the Carnitas plate and a Cubano torta. Both were insanely good.I also got a house-made cucumber and lime agua fresca, and it was equally delicious, just sweet enough and a perfect foil for that savory, sumptuous heat from the spicy food.Like I said, this was our first experience with the folks, but this is officially my new Mexican food spot. Best, most authentic Mexican foodI've had since the last time I was in San Antonio out on W.W. White Road.
They have the best food and the friendliest owners that work hard to make the customers happy...
Sad tacos. They used old meat. I went on a Sunday. Seriously bad tacos. They hide this with good service. I left dissatisfied and I got a tummy ache later. Same for my girlfriend. Avoid!!!! Many better food spots all around. Bad mistake!!
I just ordered the Cubana Torta and it was pretty good, can't complain. The portion was perfect and I think what took me by surprise is that they included two salsas, green and red, a baggie with pepino, radish, pickled jalapeños, a grilled serrano pepper, and a cebollita. You cannot beat that level of offerings. I would order from here again, without a doubt. Thank you.
0 stars if i could. The asada tacos and the asada burrito tasted horrible it was like ground beef instead of steak
Came here on a Tuesday around noon. I ordered a carnitas and al pastor torta. The torta was really good. They melted the cheese on a flattop till it was crispy and added to the torta... wow. Staff was friendly too. Highly recommend. I saw a lady order pork skin tacos and they looked awesome, gonna order some of those next time.
Tasty and cheap...
I love the tacos and burritos from here they are good the lady in the front are always nice and polite they have $1 tacos Monday through Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm
Hands down, best carnitas in town. Also recommend their aguas frescas. They are fast and very friendly service.
They have the best taco selection
Amazing tacos de vapor. Just needs salt but otherwise its great.
Best Taqueria in Richmond! They serve their tacos with a lot of juicy meat, and they load their sopes with avocado, meat, sour cream, etc.
We love hanging out. Yesterday we went to this superb restaurant which friends told us about. We had a beautiful evening there with great dishes and a professional team and a distinguished cuisine. We put this venue in our list and we shall no doubt return very soon. We warmly recommend.
Authentic Mexico taste and fast friendly serviceWelcome feeling ?
Bummer. I've been searching for tacos de canasta since the one time I tasted their deliciousness in Mexico and since their spotlight on Netflix's Taco Chronicles. Full disclosure I am not Mexican, but have a Mexican stepdad. Also, I was told that Tacos de Canasta and Tacos Al Vapor are the same thing... AKA steamed. Maybe I was told wrong and should have better managed my expectations. I came here one Taco Tuesday starving. I hadn't eaten all day and thought I would treat myself. Typically this results in a positive bias and the lack thereof is quite concerning. The spot itself is a cute hole in the wall. The staff was friendly enough. Parking was street parking only and can be a pain, also so can traffic. Worth nothing, the yelp page has a different name than the advertised name which is El Mexicano Deli & Taqueria (perhaps new owners). I asked if they had tacos al vapor and I was happy when they said yes. I was hoping for more variety but they only had cabeza (head) and lengua (tongue). I ordered two de lengua. I was super excited. Got my two fairly quickly. Tried it as is. Immediately, I was surprised with how dry it was. Squirted some lime. Helped but needed something more flavor. Added hot sauce and that helped it go down easily, but a good taco SHOULD NOT need hot sauce, especially if claiming it to be the house special. I'm a teacher and think that my school food would have been better than this. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back.
