I adore this spot! They offer excellent dishes, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that place is an expert, I love a lot tasting all their food. The food is always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the customers is good. I often eat in this restaurant and I not even once was unhappy. Highly recommended.

The food is outstanding and so fresh that I had to wait for it to finish cooking. The owner is one of the most personable and nicest people I've ever come across. I honestly wish I could eat here every day. It's a small establishment but it's mighty in how they treat customers and serve incredibly good food.

This place was not good at all! We went when it first opened up thinking the flavor would be the same as the old establishment but the flavor was so off. The cornbread was suppose to be the best but was the worst. I never cane back but after all these 5 stars, I might try it again.

Not sure if the chicken was cooked a day before but it wasnt fresh the skin was so soft they said they had yams I came down and they didnt have any like I'm very disappointed in the food but the costumer service was great

Crispy and Juicy and lots of flavor in all the right places! After eating my first three, I was about to order a THIRD meal for myself! 3 piece combo (greens and mac).. but the fried chicke ! I also ordered a special item (**** Chicken) right off the grill. This smell was what brought me here while exiting Carlson/580. This was right off the grill. It was good, but the fried chicken was on another level that just made me wish I had a 15 piece of fried chicken.... wow.. the fried chicken!!! The place does not do A La Carte for the meats. I wish they did. The sides were good but dayummm... the fried chicken! Service was stunning from everyone. I even got a sample of the Sweet Tea (with a California twist). But.. the fried chicken! Please support this business and get the fried chicken!!! ADDENDUM: I caved in and went back for the third serving but I called ahead. I couldn't help myself.. :)

Everything needed seasoning, and the hard little they were passing off as cornbread were not even good hushpuppies~so dense and rubbery. Fried chicken good. Red beans and rice good. Seafood gumbo delish. Sweet potatoes good (bit sweet for me.) Collards were tender but needed salt, onion and smoked meat. I doctored them at home. I think if they had a steady flow of customers and food was not sitting in the warmer so long, you'd have some decent grub. Oh, and Mac cheese had good flavor but dry. GET IN THERE AND GIVE THEM SOME BUSINESS but tell them to pass on the corn turds cuz they come with every meal.

If you love fried catfish, this is the spot for you! The catfish is moist, succulent, and perfectly cooked. It is thicker than the catfish I've found elsewhere in the area and the breading doesn't compete with the fish. The chicken is also good, but I rarely get it because I just want that catfish! Portions are a good size. So why isn't this a 5 star review? The food is a bit uneven. I find the hush puppies to be hard, dry, and inedible. Maybe I'm not going at the right time? Some of the sides are overly sweet and greens are your only option for a non-carb-based side. To go is your best option as inside seating is minimal. Don't miss the opportunity to talk to the owner Donnell. Did I mention that the catfish is crazy good?

I was in Richmond and I heard about this place on yelp. I also read the reviews on Yelp about this place so I decided to try this place. The atmosphere was nice they were playing gospel music. And the waitress/ cook was kind of cute lol. Her hair was cute and I liked her African Centric Style. Anyways I wasn't satisfied with the food I received. The pork chops had more bone than they had meat. The gravy was mediocre at best. Collard greens were good. And the macaroni and cheese was another disappointment. And for the limited amount of meat I think the combo is a little too pricey... But I would consider trying again only because I like the customer service and the atmosphere. I like gospel music. And that girl was hella cute lol. Anyways if I go back, I will try another item on the menu.
