Having read in a news article about the Richmond "tacos corridor" or 23rd Street, we decided to venture forth and tried out a few places, as we lived in Richmond so this is literally like in our back yard. First tacqueria we tried was Tacos La Raza. Tucked in a corner of the parking lot of the La Raza Market, this place has a few tables outside, but otherwise it is mainly take-out. They are known for unusual meats, so for our first try we ordered cabeza (meat from cow head), and suadero (rose meat, or the smooth muscle between the cow shoulder and belly), in additional to our usual- al pastor. The pastor was very good. The marinated pork was juicy, just chewy and fatty enough, and topped with a spicy salsa roja. The cabeza was chunky and meaty, full of flavor and also topped with the salsa roja. The Suadero was like a braised brisket, very tender, and very tasty with either the red or green salsa that were provided on the sides. The parking lot gets full by noon with people shopping at the market, so get there early or you will be circling around the blocks looking for parking.

Customer service is trash. They drenched my tacos in hot sauce and put no verdura after I said not so much sauce, when I went back the bitch in the front had an ugly ass attitude and a stank face. When I told her she got my order wrong she asked "what do you want me to do about it ?" Like are you stupid ? I want you to fix it ! All she did was put cilantro and onion and wrapped it back up. Now I'm stuck with nasty cold tacos.

I got a burrito regular that just had meat rice and beans she said the super one has sour cream and cheese like what. Sour cream is nasty cheese just adds flavor normally the super offers guac or other toppings that are worth the extra bucks but my burrito honestly sucked. However the meat is good and fresh not to greasy or dry but I think they should upgrade there regular burrito and there super I’ll definitely benefit them.

Literally got food poisoning after eating here. Bad food handling skills or not thoroughly cooked meat! Either way you guys need to get your food handling license checked.

People are extremely rude, ALL OF THEM. 35 minutes to get 5 tacos???? I asked how long it would take and the guy told me if it didn’t want to wait that I could get a refund (I asked after 35 mins) Of course I took my money back. A simple question to check up on my 5 TACOS after 35 minutes shouldn’t upset someone working in CUSTOMER SERVICE.I should have known though. Prior to me the lady taking orders got into a huge argument with customers because of her lack of communication. She was at fault and still blamed the customers. They recorded and will be posting on social media. Once they left, the employees started laughing and joking between themselves of how the boss wasn’t going to do anything about it.

Just waited 30 minutes for 5 tacos.. I watched new customers order double that amount and still receive their food before I did. I finally got tired of waiting so I walked back up to the counter and then surprise surprise my order was called. Will not be
