Was just lit for a walk and stopped by. Very glad I did. Have the Monte Cristo it was really good And the homemade jam that was served with it was over the top I would really recommend this place Sitting alfresco out on the balcony for serendipitous lunch is peak retirement five stars

Outside seating is fantastic. No real views of the river though.

This was our 3rd time there. The 1st time was the best. The service was great and the food was pretty good. The 2nd time they sat us upstairs at the not used bar and promptly forgot us. The enchilada sauce was old, dry and super spicy because it was yesterday's left overs. I ordered French toast bites because I couldn't eat the previous food. It took 30 minutes and I had to find a supervisor. She got us our ticket. The 3rd time was horrendously bad. My husband is allergies to tomatoes. When my food came out the server kinda dropped my plate which had a small dish of salsa on it. It splashed everything on the table. The server seen it and I asked for a remake. No joke he was gone for less than 5 minutes and brought out the same food on a different plate (maybe) or he just tried to wipe it off but left the knife with a huge glob of salsa on it. I pointed this out and he was very put out. This steak breakfast is $30 BTW. He takes it away and 3 minutes later come back with the same food, knife and a supervisor. ( the same one that helped us last visit) they acted like the food was new and the splatters of tomatoes were not still present. Litteraly we paid for $90 worth of food that we didn't eat. They have a policy they don't remove items off the ticket. This place has lost our business and I'm worried how many people with allergies are being made sick. Good luck.

Food was average at best. Sauces tasted like they came from a can or jar. I wouldn’t eat there again.

We were seated on the deck with a view of the Marina and the river. Our wait staff was prompt and courteous. We ordered the huevos rancheros which were very good. I would like to go back for dinner.

Place is super cute with a nice view of the river. We went on a Saturday afternoon, parking in that lot is always a bit crazy but I found parking pretty fast.

I did appreciate the complimentary chips and salsa.

Service was fast, although there was a mix up of what side came with the fish tacos. The tacos were fine, not super flavorful and the rice was bland and lacked flavor.

The chicken fajitas were ok but also lacked flavor.

I might give it another try and try something different next time.

Went on Saturday, my daughter wanted to go to Chevys . I convinced her to try Roosters because they are next door she caved. Was sat on a high table top that was wobbly there was someone on the table behind and girls chair wasn't allowing me to get in. Decided to ask if we could be moved they sat us outside, again the chair behind was same situation the tables are too close for the chairs they have. The waitress asked if we wanted something to drink told her waters and a Mr. Pibb. She did bring the waters but no Mr. Pibb, Then took our orders my daughter got the Chilaquiles and the waitress recommended the green sauce because they were better so she did get the green sauced chilaquiles, then was asked how she wanted her eggs my daughter said over medium, when the food came after waiting for 50 minutes when the food came the eggs were scrambled and the carne asada it comes with was hard and food was cold like it had just been sitting out for a while. The rice tasted like it was frozen and had no flavor and was crunchy the beans were bland. I myself got the Tamales it comes with 2 tamale I ordered 1 chicken and 1 pork the pork ones were surprisingly good but the chicken one was super dry. Then we wanted to order the French toast and the answer the waitress gave us was we are no longer offering the French toast but the table next to us was able to get it. So then my daughter wanted to get the tres leches cake . Which we ordered it but never got it. Never did anyone ask us if we needed anything else however the table behind us and to the side were checked on 3 times. When a man brought the food he asked if we needed anything else, I replied we ordered a Mr Pibb and can we also get salt and pepper. to what he said coming right up. We ate and luckily she brought us waters because if not I would have choked on the dry tamale and dry rice. I never got the Mr. Pibb or the salt and pepper. Oh But the waitress was quick to come and bring the bill to what I said can you make sure you didn't charge me for the Soda I never got and the tres leches cake we never got. Then the waitress said did you want the cake for here or to go. Common sense if you're eating at the restaurant you would want your dessert for here . I wish they would've brought our food and drinks just as fast as they brought the check. To top it off they weren't even that busy. Can't imagine what the service would be like on a busy day. Crazy. Not tempted to go back. Other better restaurants in Sac. Left feeling like we should have gone to Chevy's .I was a little sad because I wanted to support a latino family and I really enjoyed reading their short story of how they started their restaurant on their menu.

Very strange place. Waiters act very aggressive and odd.
They have a photographer that tries to guilt you into buying photos that they take of you.
They will do anything for a dollar.

Went here with some girlfriends (5 of us total) for a Sunday brunch. They were not very busy but the service was really lacking. One of us ordered the Sopes which comes with poached eggs on top, the eggs were super hard inside and the tortilla was extremely hard and the meat was very grisly/fatty. Another friend asked for no cheese on her meal and it was drenched in cheese and had to be sent back. When they initially delivered our food, they brought one plate out at a time which was awkward trying to wait for everyone to have their food before we started eating. They also put tequila in my Bloody Mary which was terrible. Our server checked on us once toward the end of our meal and was very quick to run away without checking in on everyone. Again, they were not very busy. There is also a photographer that comes around to everyone’s tables to take photos of you and then tries to sell them to you in frames during your meal. It was a little awkward and pricey. It then took a really long time to get our check. Most likely will not be going back here. Chevys is next door, go there, and take free selfies outside by the water.
