Napa is now nearly hostile towards families. I get it. This is "adult Disneyland". But having found ourselves here with our kids for a marathon, and an hospitality industry was absolutely anything but hospitable to us because we had kids, Charles Krug nailed it. It's a cosy and sophisticated space with a bunch of low production estate wines. Perfect for adults. But they were also soooo accommodating to us with our kids. They found a space for us (at our request) that was somewhat isolated from the adults there so as not to bother them. Then Derek, our host, took our kids (8, 11) on a personal tour of the barrel room - relaying history and knowledge in terms they could understand, so that my wife and I could have some time to ourselves. Just amazing. Thanks Charles Krug for a great experience.

What a great experience! During our stay in Napa, this was our favorite place. Kris was very helpful and a great host! He was patiently answering all the questions we had and gave us a great tour of the estate. We had the wine & food pairing at the winery and the food was absolutely delicious! We did not expect such good food but we were blown away! The wine was also fabulous and we can highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a special wine experience in Napa!

What a great experience at this Charles Krug Winery. Had a 50th birthday luncheon with exceptional service of Trent who was so knowledgeable and made our wine tasting so special we of course couldn’t leave without getting some tastings home plus some. Definitely will be back next year, with any excuse to get some wine!!!

Great winery! We went there as part of the Napa Valley Wine Train (I also recommend doing). The gentleman who did our tour was knowledgeable and friendly.

Came here for a weekday tasting for $50 per person with 4 pours each. The tasting room is large and space but was very cold so be sure to bring a jacket! The wines were good, I preferred the reserve cab and a few people loved the Chardonnay. We didn't like how they poured our second tasting into the same glass as our first as it mixes taste profiles and forces us to finish each glass until the last drop even if we didn't care for it. Thus I would recommend asking for a new glass or a side by side. We got a tour of their cellars and got to see their giant cement eggs which ferment the wine and learned that they're actually owned by the Mondavi family which was new to us!

My wife and I went in for a tasting yesterday afternoon. We got the standard 4 wine tasting for $50 each plus tax and tip. Wasn't really a fan of any of the wines, and felt that the 1 oz pours, which was the equivalent of 2 glasses of wine, certainly wasn't worth the charge. Felt like a ripoff.

The server tips herself on your bill without asking and you get emailed a receipt later to find out, which is totally unprofessional… it’s the principles. What are we, in some third world with no manners?Wine wasn’t anything to write about.

I went with my husband, sister and her husband and their kids and had such a wonderful afternoon! I called to make a reservation with Alicia and she was so kind on the phone; that extended to her welcoming when we arrived. Bianca was super informative when telling us the wines we were tasting. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Alicia even brought out some blocks and crayons for the kids to play with. They mean it when they say they’re family friendly! They’re also military friendly! Highly recommend!

Beautiful estate, and awesome wine! However, it would’ve been nice to learn more about the wine we were drinking rather than the individual pouring it… it’s one thing to mention a fun fact about yourself being a chef but it’s another to drop information on your personal life and your “4.5 million dollar home” inherited from grandma.

On a recent trip to your beautiful winery, I was taken aback by the bold mannerisms of the guide we had. I found it inappropriate for her to tell us about her inheritance and the price of a home an employer of hers owns. The fact she was from Napa and that she herself is a chef was fine to hear but I wish we would've heard more indepth about the wines instead of herself.
