Food was good, but the biggest downer was the lasagna. Tasted great, but came out cold. I get that it's not made to order, but this was room temperature or lower. A bit unappetizing, and disappointing since it was a cold day and I was looking forward to a nice hot meal. Place was quite, but it was a Tuesday, so easy to have a conversation. Next time I would send the lasagna back to be reheated -

Ordered Chicken Parmesan and received this. I'm not from around here, but it was disappointing upon arrival.

We go every Friday night and are never disappointed. Have ordered from their menu but usually go with one of their specials, which is a seafood and some meat dish that change weekly.

A friend recommended this restaurant, and I scheduled a business meeting here for lunch. Great food and service. The atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend.

Great Italian dining experience, first-timers, for party of 4. Everything we ordered--beet salad, seafood, meatballs, eggplant Parmesan was excellent and enjoyed by all. Flavorful and not overly salty, being on a lower sodium diet. Desserts were wonderful too, Tiramisu, Lily's cheesecake, and pistachio topped mixed ice creams were the cream on top of a wonderful meal!

Ditto on other reviews, romantic, cozy, great for special occasions. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Fabulous green salad and perfectly prepared vegetables, my litmus test for a good restaurant, not an afterthought!

Authentic Italian, not American italian. plates del giorno reflect the season. Classics are represented on the menu but Specials of the day deserve your attention. Very attentive service will ensure you can entertain your guests and be want of nothing. short, well curated, and affordable wine list compliments the European hospitality. Save the flight and enjoy Italy locally.

What a wonderful dinner experience. Vincenzo, the owner, is just the best. He is always there to greet his customers and makes sure you have an enjoyable evening. The food is marvelous and the ambience is quaint and comfortable. 888 geats 5 stars.

888 is our favorite local restaurant. Vince and George are welcoming and wonderful. The food is always excellent. It's a wonderful place for an intimate dinner or for a larger group. It's our "go to" restaurant of choice!

My 79th birthday! What a great time had by all! Fantastic Colorado lamb, not New Zealand or Australian frozen lamb. An oxtail ragu over pappardelle, fresh sea bass, and lasagna, just to name a few!

The food is fantastic. Tried the cuttlefish appetizer. So tender with a slight smoky flavor. Lighter sauces than many Italian restaurants It feels like a small family owned restaurant like we visited in Italy.

Everything on the menu looked so good, it was hard to decide. We settled on the specials, halibut and osso bucco, and couldn't have been more pleased with the delicious flavors. Loved the saffron risotto. Service was impeccable. Food for six of us arrived in timely manner; water glasses were always refilled. Dining outside on a cool night was pleasant with the heat lamps.

It's been exactly 15 years since we returned to 888 for an anniversary celebration. The Insalata Di Cesare was fresh and tasty. Both Rigatoni Alla Bolognese and their special of the day, Oxtail Sauce with Pappardelle Pasta were prepared extremely flavorful. It was piping hot and every morsal was divine. The Lily's Homemade Cheesecake was also delicious. We will be back more often now.

888 is a delightful cosy Italian haven on Laurel Street in San Carlos. The menu is sufficiently varied and enhanced by daily specials. The dishes are affectionally prepared. The service is personal and attentive. One word of caution. This is not a dine and dash location. To dine there is to expect to spend a lot of time. There can be lags between order taking, serving of appetizers, and entrees. Pretend as if you are back in Sienna, relax, and enjoy a delicious but extended evening.
