Born and raised in Detroit, I know Buddies pizza and this was only close in style, but not in quality. Not sure if it was the cheese or pepperoni, but way too salty. The crust was nice and service was good. The only Detroit style pizza that I have found on the West Coast was a place in Thousand Oaks and the owner was classically trained in San Francisco to reproduce the closest Buddies I’ve had. Hopefully you can tweak your ingredients accordingly.Thank you for your reply!

Gibroni's Detroit pizza is fantastic. It's pretty lightweight considering these are deep dish style pies. They are super friendly and all about making good pizzas and experiences for their customers.

Ordered pizza from Gibroni's on our drive back to San Diego from SoFi stadium and it hit the spot for sure. Everything was ready right when we got there and was exactly what we were hungry for. Pizzas were perfectly cooked, crunchy bottom of the crust and the inside nice and doughy with the perfect amount of toppings and sauce. We ordered the Cranch salad and it was super tasty as well. All delicious and so filling. We will definitely make our way back up for pizza soon.
