A Vietnamese friend of mine introduced me to Banh Mi and I would try it whenever I have the chance. A coworker told me about this place, so I had to try it. I am glad I did try it. The bread was good and not chewy like some when the sandwich is cold. The fillings were generous and tasted really good. If you ever feel.like having a Vietnamese sandwich, I do suggest giving them a try.

I ordered a Cali bowl with grilled chicken, mixed greens, and Saigon sauce and a lemongrass ribeye bahn mi. My friend and I loved the food! My friend said his bahn mi was a solid 8.5/10. The chicken in my bowl was juicy and tender, and the Saigon sauce was light and flavorful. We really enjoyed the food overall. The restaurant itself is simple, but they have a range of items to order beyond bahn mi and bowls, including freshly baked French bread and desserts. The prices aren’t crazy either, especially since they give you really large portions of everything.

Was in the area recently and was VIOLENTLY craving a banh mi, so we decided to randomly stop by ! It's located in the heart of Convoy so it's hard to miss this sign -- Parking is based on luck as this lot is shared between a few other businesses . Inside was clean and had a few tables inside and out . There were a few other people waiting for their orders . We walked straight to the register and were greeted right away . There were options for sandwiches, bowls, and even boba smoothies . We placed our order and waiting about 5 minutes or so and they brought our food to us since we decided to dine outside . Here's what we got-- Special DAC BIET is my go-to order when it comes to banh mi ! When I opened up my white parchment paper used as the wrapper I was pleasantly surprised on how long this baguette was . At first bite, the bread's crisp was a little underwhelming-- I almost wanted to bring it home and throw it in the Airfryer lol . The pate on this sandwich is a bit more pungent for my liking, so I'm glad they didn't spread too much-- this is weird for me because I usually order EXTRA PATE at my regular banh mi shop I like to go to . I should've ordered with extra mayo cause it was a bit on the drier side . The meats were okay, I noticed they only used about two different meats and a total of about four thin slices . Veggies were not the freshest and I wished were a litttle bit more pickled . Overall, presentation was magnificent, but I was expecting so much more for a $10 sandwich-- this banh mi itself was a 2/5 . On a brighter note, we also ordered the LEMONGRASS RIBEYE BANH MI and this one would make me drive back just to get it again and it's an $11 banh mi . The lemongrass ribeye was marinated beautifully and had a sweet and savory glaze that melted into the bread like a French-dip type of sandwich, but with all the banh mi add ons of course . Again, the veggies were not as pickley as I like, and the bread wasn't as crisp-- same as the dac biet; but for the ribeye flavor wise, this banh mi was a 4/5 .We also ordered some rice paper Eggrolls at $1.50 each . They tasted like they've been sitting awhile and definitely had a porky aroma-- I feel like they needed a bit more seasoning . The chicken pate chaud was delicious !! I really enjoyed this bite and the pastry tasted fresher compared to the eggrolls . All in all, I'd rather stick to my regular banh mi spot for Dac biets -- this spot is a little on the pricier side, but I would come back for the lemongrass rib eye banh mi if im VIOLENTLY craving it in the future .

I got the tofu Banh Mi with extra veggies, light mayo for to-go. It was 15 bucks with tax (1.50 for extra veggies). The sandwich was a good sized portion. The tofu was cooked well. The veggies were flavorful and crunchy. Overall, it was tasty. I ordered online and it was ready quickly. Worth going to if you have a random banh mi craving like I did.

I have been coming here for 7 years and it's disappointing to write this review. After the remodeling, new staff is just rude. And the sandwiches have dropped so much in quality starting with the consistency of the bread--baguette but prices are through the roof Food 1/5Baguette does not have that chewy consistency Pickled veggies are less and not as aromatic Meat or veggie filling is less They kept the fresh crushed black pepper consistentAlmost no mayo and barely any sauce--DRYPeanut sauce for spring rolls has runny and not thick or creamy consistency Service 1/5Either they don't want to talk to you or they are rude. It's not the middle aged Vietnamese ladies who were working non stop and didn't greet you as much because they had a job to do anymore. It's youngsters who act like they want to start a fight with you because you parked your Honda Civic next to their Acura Price 0/5I get San Diego is ranked number 1 for inflation in the US, but the fact that the quality and size keeps dropping as the price keeps increasing really makes this place a skip2023: $1.75 for 1 pork egg roll in rice paper 2016: 3 egg rolls for $1.75 I am not sure the fried egg role has much seasoning or flavor and that's coming from someone who eats bland I paid $21 for 1 bahn mi, 1 fried egg roll, and 1 order containing 2 fresh spring shrimp rolls Ambiance 4/5It looks nice after the remodeling, but what's the point when the middle aged ladies who made the best baguettes and the shop smelled like baguettes welcomed you in is gone

Nina Pascua

I paid $9 for a bland sandwich with old veggies.

first off, we work in the same plaza.. we occasionally order from cali bahn mi due to convenience but always had an issue but never really posted a review til now. you know, due to post covid/economy/etc.. but this time we had bones in our chicken bahn mi. unbelievable.this place has gone downhill for a few years now.. but we give them the benifit of the doubt due to location and convenience but wow. insane. prices have gone up and the size/quality of the sandwiches have gone down significantly. the 2 stars is because the workers are amazing.i will probably never order here again. pretty insane. go to k sandwiches or McDonalds.and to the owner.. shame on you.

Very generous portions of meat and delicious, crispy, and fresh tasting baguettes for your banh mi. Definitely recommend!

First time here was today and I was pleasantly surprised. Parking was horrific but I went at the coveted lunch hour so I can only blame myself. I ordered the BBQ pork Banh Mi and it was delicious. Bread isn't the best I've had but the inside was for sure the most flavorful. I didn't ask for sriracha( mistakes were made) or hoisin. I think that would have taken it over the top but the Banh had jalapeños to provide some heat. Lots of variety here which I appreciate. All types of drinks, milk teas, frozen drinks, bun bowls, and spring rolls. Great place for a quick meal. Small establishment but mostly people order to go so finding a table can be easy depending on the time you go.

Grab that meat pie if you can find it. It is delicious! The outside is nice and flaky and the meat is beautifully seasoned. Highly recommend for a quick snack bite.

Good food, the banh mi sandwiches especially. The teas were a little watery and not as flavorful as most, but still good.
