Simple shop, early hours. If you're in the area, I'd suggest stopping by. A solid donut spot.

you come here for donuts and coffee (Vietnamese iced coffee is so good) but stay loyal because of the people who own it. Love their friendly attitude and their son is the cutest! Keep it up

Their croissants barely have any butter. Zero flakiness. Tastes like literal bread? eggy aftertaste

The people that work here are always super friendly . Doughnuts never disappoints. We love coming here in the mornings before my son starts school. I recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood.

I'm not sure why I didn't write this review a long time ago. Embarrassing to say.... But I come here way too often because it's so delicious. I get their Vietnamese coffee (YUM) and either a donut or a ham & cheese croissant. I'm positive everything else there is delicious... but I'm just a creature of habit. The service is unreal, I also come here to catch up with the owners who are absolute angels. Thank you guys for being so awesome and making some AMAZING food and coffee! See you soon!!!

I went there a few months ago and the owner (Ulysses?) was so incredibly friendly and... just REALLY NICE. After talking to him and hearing the story behind the donut shop, he and his wife seem like the kind of people that once you have a conversation with them, you just root for them in life as a whole.I think I got donut holes and Ulysses gave me a complimentary blueberry donut to try. The donuts were really good too--one of my top two locations for donuts in San Diego now. I have them specifically in mind for when I'm craving a donut and want a hometown feel where I can get to know the human being on the other side of the counter. Beyond customer service--HOSPITALITY.Go there if you want to be treated like a human being, hear a story, and maybe even share a little bit of yours. Months later and I still remember the hospitality I experienced... not many businesses leave such an impression nowadays. I want to see these people win.

I grew up in the neighborhood and was both sad and happy that Norm and Jie (original owners for 30+ years) had finally decided to retire.Unfortunately, The new bakers just aren’t as good. I’ve tried going back and supporting them but the donuts aren’t what they use to be. They’re smaller, uneven and the frosty is both thick and super thin from donut to donut. It’s like they don’t take pride in what they’re doing and are just there to work.I took my family members and they all made similar comments about the donuts. My niece wanted a sprinkled donut but they were so small and the frosting was dried out and there were spots where the sprinkles had fallen off and left the donut spotted. Everything was uneven and the none of the donuts were uniformKind of sad to see things have taken a turn south

I've tried a lot of donuts in San Diego and these are the best. Old fashions on point. Apple fritters nicely fried inside, nice and moist outside.

The doughnuts are good, I came here recently because Bear Buns Bakery was closed. And the ham and cheese croissant was okay, but the doughnuts are better. The guy working there is friendly though!

We use to come here all the time as our kids were growing up and the donuts were great. Stopped by today march 5th 2023 and the donuts and didn't look as good as they use to be. The maple frosting seemed thin and the bakers dozen doesn't include spinkle donuts ??? Since when normally it was only the bigger cinnamon rolls and fritters . The maple bars didn't look like bars either kind of jagged looking . Love supporting small buisness but the quality just isn't there anymore.

Excellent Donuts. First time visiting today, and the Donuts tasted fresh, the bars were perfectly soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the out, and the chocolate and maple icing was delicious - not overly sweet but bursting with flavor. Old fashioned was amazing as well. There has not been a lot of Donut places which deliver so well: and I've tried plenty from Chula Vista all up to Rancho Bernardo - little hole in the walls to gourmet "fancy" places. Through it all I've been locked to my ol' regular place for a while. Happy to find another place I can become a new regular at.
