Went to pick up some quick lunch and was amazed by the flavor and presentation. The shop was a tad small and packed but after having their rolled tacos I completely understand why! Parking was a bit stressful as well just because there aren’t a whole lot of available spots but I got my food quickly and the customer service was great. Will come again 🔥✨

Smashed Cali. Get your fries extra crispy. Maybe one of the best I've had.

A humble small seating configuration might make you overlook this absolute gem. Food seemed fresh, came off RIPPING hot, and was considerably larger than expected and that flavors were on point on my California burrito. The red and verde sauce were bright and vibrant, and they gave me more than enough without prompting. The cashier was attentive, friendly, and quick. Were I local, I'd be hitting this place often. I literally came here 10 minutes after another great meal in the neighborhood and still felt the value was there and food was great.

This place was recommended to me to try to satisfy my carne asada fries cravings. After a full day walking around SDCC, this place satisfied my cravings
It’s definitely that old school hole in the wall type place. Small, order the counter with limited indoor seating. Parking can be difficult in the tiny lot and you may have to rely on street parking.
Staff is great, very friendly, accommodating and helpful
We got carne asada fries in small size for $14 which was enough for two meals. Love the skinny fries they use. Good portions of fries, guacamole, sour cream, and of course protein.
Also go chicken enchilada and rolled tacos (forgot to take a picture bc we were hungry.
Rolled tacos were just okay, nothing special. Chicken enchilada was delicious and not overly salty.
Not a fan of their guac, it’s just too runny for my preference. It’s too much like a sauce
Red sauce has a good kick, green sauce has too cilantro for my liking
It’s a good place, would try the tacos next time, but their carne asada fries are great

Such a local spot, now everyone knows about Humberto’s !!!! I ran into a huge group of ppl from La here and they even knew about this place. The place is still fantastic and burritos are the size of your arm. Get a carne asada or bean n cheese !
Enjoy!!

Great place and the parking area is so big,
Not your average carne asada taco! The beef was seasoned so well you can taste it amongst the other ingredients in the taco. The amount was very generous as well, I ordered the two taco plate and it felt more like four tacos. The beans and rice were delicious as well. Another favorite factor was their red sauce, I’m a fiend for a red/orange sauce and they delivered!

Yes this is a tiny shop. But the portions are giant. Prices are totally reasonable for what you get. Green salsa is awesome. The carne asada fries (small...) are huge. The meat quality is better then most fancy sit down restaurants.
We come from Texas and we know tacos. These are some of the best!
Just note this little shop is geared to take out. But it does have four booths for four and one booth for two.

Came around 2 on a Saturday, no wait. Food arrived quickly and hot. Had the carne asada fries. Absolutely monstrous portions - even as a man who is no stranger to the northerly side of the 200 pound mark on the scale - this was enough for 2 people. Sadly however, the food itself is disappointingly average. The fries are crispy supermarket frozen fries. The meat is good and there was plenty. There was far too much Kraft bagged cheese and sour cream. It all becomes a big gloopy mess. Not bad by any means but not noteworthy either. Service was good and quick. $17 for the fries is good value for portion but the quality is lacking.

I had a carne asada burrito and it was cold 😩
I had high expectations of this place because all of my neighbors had recommended it
My tortilla was cold the carne asada burrito it self was cold
The fries I ordered were like warm
The carnitas was cubed up and were fried a little too hard. Plus that was cold also
I had to pan fry everything again at home
