I wanted to go on vacation in San Diego originally because I love the weather and the town (I lived here briefly in the late seventies for almost two years).
But when I discovered that there were scores of vegan restaurants here, I was galvanized to really come, and to stop finding excuses to put it off.
Well, Native Foods is a real treat. The “Double Cheeseburger” and “Lemon Dill Potato Salad” I had tonight were just out -of-this-world tasty! I felt almost like a kid again as I devoured these two dishes, enjoying every single morsel from start to finish.
I can’t think of a more satisfying meal to end my last night here! Bravo! (& and thousand kisses!) to this pioneering business (since 1994!!). ?

My 4th or 5th time coming here. I really enjoy their food over PPFF. Had the beercheese burger today. Never ordered the same thing twice, liked it all. Too bad it’s 600 miles from home, but I do make a point to get at least one meal here, sometimes more, when I’m in the area, staying at hotels where kitchens and vegan options are nil.

Really delicious food, super helpful and friendly service, fun drink selection. I got the BBQ Brisket burger which smelled so good and was absolutely scrumptious. My partner ordered the Special, a Beercheese burger. He said it was the best he’d ever tasted, anywhere. Fries were crispy and perfect (we got seasoned and sweet potato).

All burgers were really tasty even the guys who were very sceptical eating vegan burgers were satisfyed. Especially the Big Vegg Burger was very good.

The best plant based food I've ever had.. the cashier was so attentive and answered my questions.. the food came out promptly too . my daughter finished her bowl of Mac and cheese it had a side of fries and they were seasoned she still loved them.. I had the pretzel jalapeño burger I devoured it and the potato salad was amazing so fresh and well seasoned! I'm salivating thinking of it right now.. the watermelon Agua Fresca with mint was super refreshing and delicious for a hot summers day you could just tell that it's real watermelon ..Who knew one could indulge while not giving up the things you love completely! Try this place!

Pretty good food. Quality ingredients, but just cannot get over the price. A sandwich with fries and a drink $20??. Took my son there because he likes it and is a vegetarian, but did not want to pay $40 for both of us to eat at a fastfood joint. Got him food and I ate at home. I have eaten here a couple times and it is alright. Would probably like it more if the prices were not so outrageous. Could have gone to a restaurant and got full service for the same price.

Native Foods has been around for a long time in So Cal. It's likely the longest lasting chain of vegan restaurants. So, they must be doing something right! I love food , so I've enjoyed everything I've tried over the years. Appies are all amazing! The entrees and salads are always fresh and full of flavor! And the desserts are to live for!! Oh, and even their iced tea is refreshing and clean. Yummy!
