Beef brisket hand pulled noodles worth the price of entry. Great Szechuan peppercorn spice flavor. The lamb skewers though tasted almost of rotten lamb. Ordering is pretty convenient using a table specific QR code though it would have been easier if we could also pay through the website.Food: 4/5

First time trying the Beef Pao-Mo Soup and love flavor ! Interesting texture with the small cut pieces of noodles. On the other hand, loved the intesting soup the most ? It has cilantro on it so if you dont eat cilantro make sure to ask to take them off when ordering.Food: 5/5

Food good. Went with friend. New cuisine for me from a section of China I'm not too familiar with. Not very busy when I went in. Tea costs extra so does rice. You order from your phone. Portions big, decent for post-COVID pricing. Would return.Food: 5/5

This food is killer. Everything we got was just amazing. Biang-Biang noodles with cumin lamb was spicy and delicious. The friend rice was a bit different than the typical fried rice...in the best way. Definitely exceeded expectations for my lady who is a fried rice addict, and we couldn't stop eating the shrimp pork and leak dumplings in the spicy vinegar broth. Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful finding you a dish you will like, especially if you are trying to branch out to try something new. This place is truly magic!

Very very good Chinese food! Highly recommended! I tried green beans, mapo tofu and biang biang noodles. Everything tasted delicious and the service was quick. Would be surely visiting this place again.

Excellent food!! We ordered everything vegetarian on the menu and we weren't disappointed. Our order was Biang Biang noodles, fried green beans and mapo tofu. Everything was delicious, but noodles were out favorite. And we noticed almost every table had ordered it too. The service was fast, the place was very clean and food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Quality food makes up where service lacks. The noodles are to die for! The sauce is flavorful and hits every savory spot.

Shan Xi Magic Kitchen is my go-to spot for Asian-style noodles. They have the best chewy hand pulled noodles anyone can ask for! I love their Tomato Egg Noodles, Big Plate Chicken dish (can serve up to 4 people! Has potatoes, large pieces of chicken, and noodles), cold cucumber salad, and dumplings! You honestly can't go wrong with anything here!
One of the most authentic Chinese foods in San Diego! If you want to try the real Chinese flavor, please come to check it out. First, this restaurant is specializing in Shan Xi food which represents one of the most popular western part of Chinese cuisine. Myself love Shan Xi food a lot, they use a lot of beef & lamb, it’s a little bit like mid-eastern foods. This time, the dishes I tried and loved a lot are Di San Xian, Stir Fry Lotus Root, and hand pulled Biang Biang noodles. My friend said almost all their foods are nice, I’ll definitely come back here for other dishes!

Oh my lanta--came in to this unassuming restaurant from my mom's friends recommendation and my taste buds are so happy. If you're in search of spicy flavor and good dough (noodles, dumplings), visit this place! Cumin lamb noodles hit the spot (I always go for lamb since I can't make it at home--tastes legit and big pieces too), and those noodles are no joke. Thick, delightfully chewy and so long we had to ask for a knife to cut it up to eat. Dumplings were similarly satisfying, especially with the trademark vinegar based soup. I always end up getting the eggplant with garlic sauce as my go-to comfort food and this take on it did not disappoint. With such an all-star line up, amazingly the cold spicy beef shank was perhaps the best seasoned dish of all. Easy on phone QR code ordering, fast service and large portions (two meals for our party of 2!). I don't know where Shanxi is because American Geography classes are lacking, but I'm inspired to visit now!

No AC which is fine for a normal day but it was sweltering on the day we went. Service was good and the biang biang noodles were my favorite. Those hand pulled noodles are awesome!! The dumplings and beef soup were ok- pretty good but nothing exceptional.

i love this place!! it's hard to find a restaurant that offers xi an food in any city, but it's even more difficult to find one that is exactly the flavors and textures i expect from xi an food! although the restaurant is no frills in terms of decor or customer service, you are immediately welcomed by all the familiar smells of xi an food as you come in to sit down. my friends laughed at me for talking a waltz around the restaurant to check out what everyone else was eating. no shame :D as a vegan i recommend the liang pi noodles, biang biang noodles, eggplant, vegetable and mushroom skewers. my friends always enjoy the cumin lamb, beef noodles and beef skewers.
