I felt like I had dinner in izakaya in Japan. It was not only authentic but also so tasty.

My son and I just returned from eating at Yakitori. We tried a lot of their offerings and all were excellent. Servers were excellent and offered great suggestions. We enjoyed everything they served us and it reminded me of my times sitting in yakitori restaurants in Tokyo. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an authentic yakitori experience. Don’t ask…ju see t eat and enjoy the experience.

I've been here twice, the first time I was by myself. They were very busy and I didn't have a reservation and was told I would have to wait one hour. In five minutes they created an open spot for me at the end of the counter! I was impressed with their service and the food was awesome. They also have a great selection of Shochu. I live in the L.A. area, but liked it so much that I came back again three weeks later. This place definitely will not disappoint you, but better make a reservation, they get busy.

What can I say. This place is awesome. Go, eat and have a good time. Reservations are recommended.

We call this our dining hall for a reason. You can't go wrong ordering anything and the drinks are amazing. We love the plum wine and chicken skewers. Easily top 5 restaurants in all of sd.

Yokohama has been my favorite restaurant in San Diego since I moved here in 2019. They are known for their grilled meat and vegetable skewers… kushiyaki! If you’ve never been, I recommend an order of at least the following skewers: the first skewer on the specials menu, shumai meat dumplings (crowd favorite every time), chicken thigh with green onion, chicken meatball, chicken wings, beef short rib, pork belly, and shishito peppers. As a side/appetizer, you can’t go wrong with the spicy chopped cucumber salad and the gyoza. Top it off with an Asahi Super Dry beer and you’ll wish you’d discovered this joint years ago.Absolutely make a reservation by calling during business hours at least 1-2 days in advance. Please be patient with the staff. They can sometimes be understaffed. And some of them are native Japanese speakers. But all of them work their tails off with what they’ve got to give their patrons the best dining experience.

Best yakitori in San Diego!! We got the omakase yakitori, chicken skin, and karrage. I've gotten their udon as well and it's delicious. If you can, I would make a reservation because they usually have a wait during dinner time.

Get here before you're hungry because there's always a long wait!! Love this place. We always order to go and it still takes almost 39 minutes to get the order because they're in high demand. We come here for one thing only and it's the chicken gizzard yakitori. I'm drooling as I type this! It's so smokey and has the perfect amount of salt. I'd eat here everyday if I could! Pork Belly + Chicken Wings were also great.

Make reservations! Unless you like to wait for 2 hours. Most of the skewers on the special menu were GREAT, I think one was chicken neck. My husband got the chicken liver, gizzard, and heart-- he loved the liver one the most. I also got the green tea soba noodles and didn't think they were really anything special compared to regular soba noodles. One major inconvenience would be, we were probably the last ones seated here during the first round of tables and got our skewers after waiting maybe an hour... We didn't order enough either and considered ordering a second round but they said it would take even longer... So I would definitely over order on your first round here. Will be back again with a reservation and a plan!

The food was great. Small skewers and portions but taste really good. The restaurant is small and noisy. Giving it a 4-star for great service and tasty food.

Told to wait ~45 min. We went back and checked with the waiter and was told to wait outside. Waited outside for another 15 min and ended up crossed out from the waitlist when we checked with them again. The waiter(owner?) says that they are not going to hold any more tables and he was not even sorry for the situation. EXTREMELY BAD attitude!

Had no time to wait for Okan diner so walked over here. Was a delight surprise. The chicken thigh was so juicy and the liver has no gamey flavor at all. The chicken breast was also quite tender. The staff was friendly as well. The beef tongue and the pork were hit or miss. Would love to come back trying more yakitori

MAKE A RESERVATION!!We came here on a Tuesday night and it was so busy! We waited about 2 hours and finally our table was ready.. once we sat down the server informed us that they were out of a lot of items. It was about an hour before closing when we sat down.My friend and I ordered edamame, Ajitama (salted egg), Toriudon, the omelet and some yakitori meats. The salted egg was so good I felt like the serving was too small though. The udon here was also really good and probably the best I’ve ever had state side. The omelet was so good creamy and tested really authentic. The yakitori was also really good but super limited so I didn’t get to try everything. The food overall was really good and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend this place for people who have had and know authentic Japanese Flavors but DON’T FORGET THE RESERVATION!i
