Ugh this Dos Primos on sourdough was so friggin GOOD and YUM and perfect mouth chaos. It did what a SFian wants, and interrupts my normal work day brain for a crash of gratitude for the little things in life that go YUM!

There are plenty of good options for a sandwich in the area but I find myself coming back here at least once a week. Pretty much anything you try on their menu is tasty and thoughtfully prepared. The lines can be long at lunch but they move quickly. A great option to pick up a sandwich here on a nice day and eat it at one of the tables next door in Embarcadero plaza.

A true chefs go-to for lunch! The sandwiches are the closest to NY I have found since moving back to CA! The owners and staff are top notch and efficient! Perfect place to pick up lunch and enjoy the floral ambiance of the Embarcadero mezzanine!
Another great breakfast location in the financial district San Francisco. I got the jack hammer on plain bagel. That thing was so damn good and filling. I was very full and satisfied till paste lunch time, I ate it along with a coffee at my office a few blocks away. Will be coming back here!

They do not offer a gluten free bread option. Not the best place for company catering options.

The food is awesome. So fresh and delicious. Recommend the escape from Alcatraz or the goodfellas. This is my third day in a row here. That's saying something. The service is fast and accommodating. Love the smell as you walk up. The ambiance is fast and clean. Love this spot. A must.

Good sandwich and quick nice serviceI ordered the honey baked which had a nice spicy kick to it from the pickled jalapeñosClean shop but hard to findIt’s located tucked away in a corner on the 2nd floor of the 4 Embarcadero buildingWhen you go up the escalator to the 2nd floor turn left and then another immediate left and you’ll see the shop tucked awayNot obvious even if you’re lookingI walked past it a couple times

There are a lot of great sandwich joints in this foodie town, but 5th Avenue Deli is one of my top go-to's. Delicious combinations, reasonable prices, and very friendly owner and staff. The pastrami sandwiches with double-meat are my favorite, but you can't go wrong here
