SO GOOD!
I was gifted a small round white cake w white buttercream frosting from this---a purist's delight. This cake was THE BEST cake, THE BEST buttercream with no odd mouthfeel, only pure moist but not gooey deliciousness. I've paid $100 for a cake like this but this cake was far less expensive. My partner and I finished the whole cake in 24 hours(meant to serve 8). This is where I will get all the cakes I need for celebrations. I'm past the age of posting pics of the food I eat but I reassure you, any cake lover will not be able to resist eating way more than you mean to and be happy you did!

First time trying so I wasn’t sure if it was an off day but the food was really disappointing. The lemon bar had a really strange metallic initial taste to it like it had spoiled somehow, the snickerdoodles had a subtle floral taste as if hand lotion got mixed into the dough, and the other baked goods were just generally very bland and dry. When it comes to sweets I’m not usually very picky at all so this really surprised me. The staff were really friendly and helpful but I couldn’t see myself returning.
I was able to try their cookies, brownies, cakes and none of them disappointed. Really moist and full of flavor.
I had the carrot cake. It was soooo good. Delicously moist and stayed light, unlike some carrot cakes. And the cream cheese frosting was perfect. Now, I'm ready to explore the rest of the menu.
If you are ever in need of satisfying your sweet tooth and or a wonderful customer service experience, A Girl Named Pinky is one of the finest local bakeries in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tina, the owner is amazing at what she does and puts much so effort into her work. I can’t pinpoint a specific dessert because they can whip up just about anything. My favorite in particular is Tina’s delicious red velvet cupcakes. The treats are tasty and made with love. More than that, Tina provides superior customer service. Tina’s staff at the UC Berkeley location is always going above and beyond to make sure that everything is perfect and with a smile. A Girl Named Pinky is valued in the local community and their dedication to you is unmatched. You can place an order online and they are still open for business during the pandemic. Please go support!!
Being apart for my boyfriend's birthday, I ordered a cake at "a girl named pinky" as a surprise. Tina was very nice, responsive and flexible. In the end, she offered a free delivery when his plans changed in order not to spoil the surprise. And apparently the chocolate raspberry cake was super delicious. Thank you very much!
Tina made a beautiful cake for my daughter's wedding - it was perfect! Just what we asked for and it tasted amazing. Thanks so much!!
