Had my first ever clam chowder here and man it was good! The staff was also really friendly, helpful and efficient. The north beach area and neighborhood where the place is located is also cozy and picturesque.

I'll keep it short:I've never eaten such good seafood. Anyone stopping in San Francisco should come here.

We ate at Betty Lou’s for lunch and had a great meal here. The service and the food were both excellent. The scalloped potatoes with the halibut special were amazing and I would highly recommend.

great place for some classic and not-so-classic sf seafood. i highly recommend that visitors get mike's crab wok, an asian twist on a sf staple. you could split it between two people, but one hungry person could definitely take it on. on the rest of the meal my dad says: "the seafood linguine was perfect, some of the best seafood i've ever had. i'd fly out here just to have it again." all the seafood is fresh and you can taste it. while i don't think the prices are all that worth it, i think it's a great spot for a special night out.our waitress was super helpful and gave us honest feedback on our ordering decisions, as well as offering a great dessert spot.it's worth noting that they offer sourdough as their table bread, something apparently hard to come by in the sourdough capital of the us.also worth noting: bathroom by the kitchen is haunted

Average at best. lots of broken shell pieces in the oysters, the shrimp cocktail came with “cocktail sauce” that just tasted like Heinz ketchup. The creamy pesto linguine was decent, but The price definitely did NOT reflect the quality. wouldn’t go back.

The food looks really good but very bland. I had a Cioppino that was oh so disappointing. My normal go to is Sotto Mare and I hate that I made the mistake of going to Betty Lou's. How do you destroy a San Francisco tradition? After using the salt 4 times I gave up and asked waitress if they had Old Bay or anything to help this dead flavor. Unfortunately, there was no other option besides a pound of salt. Never again will I visit Betty Lou's. No, no no no no! Also no refills on drinks and when you get a drink it's filled half way with ice. More bread will cost you $4. I wish I could give negative stars.

The restaurant has good reviews on the web, but we did not find our experience matching the descriptions. Cioppino was good, but surprisingly expensive compared with other excellent places around SF. The risotto was ok. But fish came very dry, and the sides that came with it were unimpressive. Good size portions, however. Overall, considering the available choices around the area and the prices at this restaurant, I would not recommend it.

It is an Italian restaurant and a hidden gem in San Francisco where the chef's desire to provide healthy and fresh ingredients in each menu item is clearly conveyed and felt.In particular, Cioppino is the best in San Francisco. Rather than being widely known, it is more like a hangout place that I only want to go to with close friends. It made me feel like I was eating in Italy. Thank you so much.?????
