Impressive. Impressive agiotage. Very classy place with awesome history and rituals around every aspect of dining. Simple short menu, home made sauces, bread, fermented dressings. By the end of the meal you will be most likely full, but if you spare a bit for the desert - there are a few great items like: Creme Brûlée, tiramisu, Fantasy cake and strawberry shortcake. You have to book a table ~ 6 months in advance, but the trick is that if you book a table for more than 2 - you can get it much sooner.

Amazing food and great service

A true and full 5 star. House of Prime rib is a "have to" stop when in San Francisco. The establishment is extremely well ran. Coordination is on exhibit at all times. Now to the food. The prime rib is on the menu! King Cut is the best way to go. The horseradish sauces are the perfect compliment. The table made salads bring a touch of the old world classic steak house feel. Yorkshire pudding ... you will not find better. Creamed spinach is great as well. The cocktails ? are very generous, and overall, the price point gives favor to the patron while the house gives nothing but service. Spent the week in Yountville, and I must say House of Prime Rib was a favorite. Wish I had room for dessert, but I was so perfectly full and comfortable I had to pass... this time. We will be back and sooner than later

The ambiance is very nice. There's a queue outside, you think you're going to eat something good but you're wrong ? I ordered the meat medium but it was overcooked. Anyway, meat is boiled meat. As a show, they have a man with a sullen face cut the meat in front of you and serve it on a very hot plate. Cooked meat becomes even more cooked. A friend and I ordered the same thing, her portion and mine were different. They put some crumbles in the baked potato that came with it, it is never fresh. Waiters constantly ask questions such as "Have you finished, should we give you a box?" We felt like we should get up immediately. The waiter didn't like the food left and went on a trip. This situation amused me. It's a place where people who don't know what meat is eat and enjoy it. But you don't have to spend so much money to eat this. We weren't happy with meat, so we decided to have dessert. There was more butter than cheese in the cheesecake. The only thing I like is the hot bread served at first

Beefy decadence. What more could you want? Get the King Henry VIII, but have them cut it like an English.

I have been anticipating coming to this place for over ten years now but as luck would have it I was never able to until now. It was very exciting to finally get to visit and I couldn’t wait to try what they had to offer. I carefully studied the menu that I knew front and back just in case I wanted to change my mind last minute. But nope .. I knew I wanted the King Henry VIII Cut. It had been my dream for a decade to order this and I was gonna do it! I went with the traditional sides which were creamed spinach and mashed potatoes and my girlfriend got the creamed corn with baked potato. We. were. stoked.Next thing you know the server is being snarky to his colleagues and causing some drama (guess he was having a bad day) but we brushed it off as we were there to celebrate and have the dream meal of our lives. One thing escalated to the next so quickly as our meal progressed. My prime rib was seared on one side the first round, then it came consistently colored the next but not the temperature I wanted, and then third time is the charm right? No .. it came dripping with blood the third time. I guess that’s what I get for speaking up about a steak?Anyways by the third time my rib came I lost my appetite and didn’t eat it. No one asked and no one was around to notice anyways because our server Justin was MIA for twenty minutes and it was getting too late for us to care anymore. We asked several servers and other staff where our server was but no one knew and we were eventually told that he had left for the night. This really threw us off because not only were we unable to tell anyone it was my gf’s birthday but we hadn’t even paid for our tab yet. Then another five minutes or so later our server showed up! We were so happy and disoriented at the sight of him that it was very very sad. We asked him for the check and a treat for our birthday celebration. He brought them both out fairly quickly. The other staff member who boxes up leftovers asked if he could help us box our food up so we said yes. He boxed it up but I ended up leaving it behind because it was just a terrible meal all together and I just didn’t have the appetite for it anymore. No one cared to ask why my entire meal was untouched or why I decided not to even take it with me.This is the longest review I have ever written and it is because I wanted to share my experience in detail so that this very overrated place might either fix their problem or maybe a few people will come here while taking precautions after reading this. Unlike me (who thought putting myself in the hands of these folk’s professional care would just work since they have raving reviews) I hope at least a few people will be warned substantially so they will not have to experience what my party experienced.Chris the Caribbean manager was quite nice. He never really asked if I had finished my meal after the third time but I guess that is how it goes when you’re busy. Our server was quite unpleasant to us and even his coworkers so it made us sad for him and his colleagues. I do hope he will be able to leave his hard feelings at home next time as it made us very uncomfortable during our meal.Valet only for $17 or you can try to find street parking. They do not take Discover. If you are on the waiting list and come back by 10pm then no matter how late they take to seat you they will serve you. At least that is what we were told. No call aheads, only in person waiting list entries. They do not text or call so you have to be nearby to hear your name.I won’t be coming back here unless asked to by friends or family but if you do then please make sure to get what you ask for as you will be spending a hefty amount of money. This place is not cheap!

This place is so hard to make rsvp for the time you want it. You need to constantly check their availabilities. I usually came here at least once a year, and I have been here several times. Their quality, 4.5 out of 5 and services 4.7 out of 5 were consistently good. I normally ordered Henry the king VIII with cream spinach, corn, and smashed potato. I was here on the 26th of March around 1930. Valet parking is about 17 bucks. It's quite difficult to find parking spaces on the streets around there. Valet parking may save you some troubles. The place was busy af as usual. We got seated right away. A server greeted us at our table. We ordered our drinks first. The drinks came to the table within 8 to 10 mins. First he poured the first drink to us then he poured a second drink to the table next to us. Then he poured another drink back to us. That's not professional. Then he just left an empty glass with two olives in it. He stated the last drink wasn't ready. So disorganized. We waited like 20 mins to order our food. I already felt that today their services were off. Not only the services, the salad and the prime rib were a bit off. The prime rib was great at the edges but when getting to the center, the texture was a bit rough. I have to say this time was the worst compared to my previous visits. I will come back here in May. Let's see if their quality has got worse.

I went to House of Prime Rib this weekend. My friend has been booking their birthday here for the past few years, and I always look forward to coming! The food is delicious and the value is great. I usually get the City cut, which is the smallest cut, and I can never finish it. The menu is easy to navigate… mainly because the choices consist of how much beef you want. If you’re a vegetarian, don’t worry. They have great baked potatoes, creamed corn, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, yorkshire, and salad. Also, that was basically the menu. Easy right?? They also have a small list of classic desserts. The drinks taste balanced and are well made. They give you the sidecar, so be prepared to stay for a while or take an Uber. The decor is classic, cozy, and clean. When I’m here, I feel like I’m going to run into the Rat Pack or Marilyn Monroe. It’s always been crowded when I’ve been here, but that’s what makes it fun for me. It’s crowded, but I don’t feel like a sardine. The restaurant flows. The staff is so friendly and attentive. You do have to book a reservation a few months in advance, but this place is well worth the wait!

Go for the history, not the food. Salad was the best part of the meal. Prime rib was tough and not flavorful. Baked potato was dried up. Creamed spinach was slimy and tasted like bacon. Did not have dessert. Service was quick, informative and friendly. I will not be back.Vegetarian options: Grilled vegetable medley or Ala carte salad, potatoes, or creamed spinach. Not great.Kid-friendliness: Kid meal available.
