Ever seen the documentary called, "Fear City" about how they took down the mafia in NYC. Remember the guy named, "Michael Franzese" who was the former mob boss in the Colombo family who was in the documentary? Yeah he is the owner and founder of this pizza chain. He gave his life to God and went legit. Hasn't been in the mob since 1996.Anyway those Italians know how to cook. I knew I had to check this place out. It totally lived up to my expectations. This isn't some lousy pizza chain like Dominos or Pizza Hut. No, when I ate there the Pizza was much better. I plan on returning soon. This place was great!

This pizza store serves non traditional pizza. Their pizzas are squares instead of circles. Their toppings are fresh and yummy. Personally, I usually like ordering Hawaiian whenever I go to pizza store, but I don't like their Hawaiian. Their meat lover pizza is great though.

It's quite good. Interesting offerings, but bad location. Nobody knows it's in bay meadows.

Nice spot in downtown LA.

Good pizza but they close at 6pm Mon-Fri and they're not open at all on Sat/Sun. That said, I recommend Square Pie Guys as a more available alternative.

I have tried a variety of slices and my favorite by far is the BBQ Chicken. You will not be disappointed. Try them out, you will be happy you did.

Slices is a great pizza place. They offer a large variety of pizza by the slice. The slices are at room temp and then when you place your order they warm it for you in the oven. The variety ranges from simple pepperoni to more fancy pizza slices like bbq brisket. The staff is friendly and are good at what they do. Bathroom was very clean and modern. I like that Slices is not at street level as I think it detours the homeless.I’m a fan and I’ll be back!

One of the Best Pizza's in town reminds me of UNO's greatvariety on the menu deep dish great customer service I love this pizza
I must admit I wanted to try this place if only for the fact that one of the founders is Michael Franzese, made man currently retired from his job as capo for the Colombo crime family. If you Google him on the internet you'll find that he's a fascinating storyteller. But regardless of that, the subject here is pizza. The SF location is in the original Marlow spot on Townsend. Its a challenging location right now as there is no baseball and nobody working in the area. Plus they took the parking away on Townsend which is a drag. But the pizza was nice enough. They do it in the square format so it's thicker than your normal New York slice. The crust was the right combination of crunchy and chewy, the tomato sauce pretty much nailed the traditional red sauce flavor, and the cheese was good quality, not too greasy like a lot of places. I got a simple cheese slice with pepperoni added. I enjoyed it but was it the best pizza slice ever? Probably not but you don't want to mess with the mob so I'll say it was just great! But I'm not just saying that. My new criteria for judging restaurants is how I feel half an hour after I leave. Usually I feel ripped off or disappointed But in this case after leaving Slices I felt really good as if all was well with the world. Hopefully you will have the same experience

Despite the ghost-town that SF has become, the slices were fresh, service was prompt, and my heart went out to the cook, wearing a mask in a hot kitchen.Unsung heroes.

Slices has been one of our favorite places to order pizza from for some time now. Their pizzas are square cut, like Sicilian style, with a crisp crust and perfectly-burnt pepperoni. We tend to order more than one sheet, just so we have leftovers the next few days. But this yelp ain't about a great pizza. It's about the importance of customer service, and not just the type dreamed up by out-of-touch marketing executives. In specific, I want to call out Natalia who was working at Slices when we ordered. We used GrubHub, which I reckon is my fault, but I suppose it's on par with all the delivery apps. True to form, the driver never showed up; GH service was friendly (I had to call them 2 times since the app stopped working) but they seemed to have no authority to fix the problem and at some point the order just canceled. Yes, canceled, not by my choice. This was after pre-ordering at 11am today for 5:30 delivery. All that VC money and you can't do the one thing right!?? So again, after having to call a few times, trying to figure out where are pizza was, I spoke to Natalia at Slices. Turns out that she had had our order ready for so long, had been reassured by GrubHub that someone was coming... but we all know now that no one ever came. I said don't worry about it, what can you do? Natalia said, "I'm almost ready to close up shop, I think I could just swing by and drop off your pizzas." And she did. With a smile, even thru her mask. Does anyone remember when the only people who did delivery were Chinese restaurants and pizza places? Those were the days. Thanks, Natalia, any way you slice it, you saved the day.

This obviously doesn't need to be said, but clearly, the shape of a pizza slice has absolutely nothing to do with how it tastes. Yet, I have to admit - Slices and their rectangular slices had me so curious! Of course, it didn't hurt that the photos of their pizzas looked pretty good on Yelp, but I'd be lying if I said the shape just had as much to do with it. Ridiculous, I know, but I had to check it out for the sake of Yelp! Yeah, that's why. My pledge of no carbs for a month coming to an end had nothing to do with it...ha! Now, in a few different ways, this review has been a long time coming. I was ready to write off Slices after my first time here, but held off at the behest of one of my friends (he loves this place). To be honest though, it wasn't a hard sell; even after the first time I came here, I was super curious about their salads and sandwiches. Not to mention the fact that, quite simply, a couple of the other pizzas I saw just looked that good... -- PEPPERONI PLUS - Pepperoni, Olives, ...$5.25 -- PESTO CHICKEN...$5.25 ( Tried these my first trip here and wasn't impressed. The toppings were great (a lot of pepperoni, fresh veggies, flavorful chicken and pesto), but the dough/crust killed it for me - the bottom was so hard and dried out, it was like eating a cracker. -- PEPPERONI...$4.95 -- SAUSAGE PLUS...$5.25 ( Had this a few months after my first visit and it was far better. Not only were the toppings just as good (the sausage was especially good), but the crust/dough didn't have the same texture. It was still oddly stiff, but it was more crispy than cracker-like. -- ITALIAN SUB - Provolone, Salami, Prosciutto Cotto, Sopressata, Mortadella, Mustard, Arugula, Pepper, Tomato, Pepperoncini, Onion, Cucumber, Olives, Jalapeno, and Aioli...$9.95 ( Though not quite what I had expected (thought it'd be more pressed), this wasn't bad. I liked that the bread wasn't super thick (though a little dry), how fresh the veggies were, and just the overall taste. That said, I was a little disappointed the layer of meat was so thin. -- ITALIAN CHOPPED SALAD with Mixed Greens, Tomato, Salame, Turkey, Garbanzo Beans, and Provolone...$9.95 ( Despite how the flavors were decent, I was mixed on this one. The salad was pretty fresh, all of the components complemented each other well, and the dressing was good. However, the portion felt a bit light and it was hard to tell just how much meat and cheese it really had. -- CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD with Romaine Lettuce, Tomato, Pecorino, and Croutons...$9.95 ( Maybe my expectations were too low, but this was surprisingly solid. The portion also felt a little light, and I would've preferred Parmesan over their pecorino, but the lettuce felt especially crisp and I relaly like the big of smokiness on the chicken. While the service here has generally been very friendly (there's one worker/manager who is always here that is super nice), I can't speak as glowingly about the kitchen - it's RIDICULOUSLY SLOW. Not sure if it's because they only have one or two guys back there and/or if they make dishes from scratch when you order, but it takes forever for sandwiches and salads to come out. If you're in a pinch for time, stick with their pizzas - not only are they better, but they'll throw it in their mini-oven as you pay and get you on your way that much faster. All in all, I waffled on how many stars to give Slices (I definitely don't think it's as good as their 4.5 star average), but I think THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded up (for now) is pretty fair.
