This place must be a well-kept secret because it's rarely crowded for dinner. I imagine it has crowds at lunch as UCSF staff come down the hill to eat. The food is excellent and not expensive. The staff is friendly without being imposing. I think it's a husband and wife in the kitchen. Lady in Red and Caterpillar are my favorite sushi rolls, but all that I've tried has been superb. I've enjoyed their Bento Box and Saki too.
Small little sushi spot but fast and authentic! I got a sushi combo and it was so delicious that I forgot to take a pic lol the only issue was my sashimi has wasabi under the fish and I am not a fan of wasabi
TLDR: 3.5 stars for a little mom and pop sushi spot with good portions for a fair price but nothing outstandingWe ordered the lunch bento box for $15 each and also got three nigiris. The unagi was way overcooked and dry but the yellow tail was nice. The salmon sashimi with mine was fresh and the rice was cooked well but the tempura was a bit over breaded.
