The hubby, our daughter & I just left the crowded streets of Christmas in the park & we're going to go to Scott's Seafood for dinner but we're turned away due to not having a reservation. We ended up going to Anchor's Fish & Chips instead & all I have to say is... Thank You Scott's! The food is delicious & even my very picky 10 year old is throughly enjoying her dinner. My hubby & I both got the Prawns & chips & our daughter got the Chicken & Rice teriyaki bowl. After tasting my daughter's dish, I wish I had gotten that. The prawns are del & the fries are great. The teriyaki bowl is FULL of tender grilled chicken & fresh veggies. The place is pretty busy w/out it being "packed" & everyone seems to be fully enjoying their meals. I'm very glad we came here & can't wait to come back.

I walked in to this cute atmosphere name of restaurant Anchors. There menu looked so good I kinda wanted to order everything lol If you love seafood this is the place to go. I order the Alaskan Cod and the cheesy sour dough bread with crab meat and oh my god just melted in your mouth. Now the fish in chips hands down the best I have tasted by far. Customer service was excellent very clean. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone and the prices are great and well worth it.. Definitely 5 stars ??.

They messed up my last two orders. Last week I ordered key lime pie with my order that never came. Today I wanted calamari. I got a calamari steak. It just says calamari, not calamari steak. I was disappointed again. I guess I am done.

There were a lot of options on the menu that I did not expect to see here. I could not decide between a lobster roll or the crab fries. I landed on the crab fries and was very happy with this delectable treat. Good fries with a lot of tasty crab meat loaded with cheese and sauce. I definitely want to try the crab roll next. Grab a beer from one of the bars near by to pair nicely with your seafood. Parking was pretty rough her so we ended up parking in a paid lot. That’s downtown for ya.Vegetarian options: I personally come here for the crab or lobster. I don’t believe either of those are in a vegetarian diet. But I guarantee there is at least one vegetarian friendly option here.Dietary restrictions: This is a seafood restaurant, so in my opinion, you were going out of your way to eat here. If you can’t eat seafood, there are about 30 other restaurants in the Square to choose from.Parking: We drove around for a while, trying to find a free parking spot on the street. We were not able to find one so we went and used a paid parking garage. The walk was not that bad from the garage.Kid-friendliness: There was live music and good ambience here. You can bring kids but I would not call the square a kid friendly location. Better for young adults/adults.Wheelchair accessibility: You could get a wheelchair in here. It gets very crowded during peak hours where people are shoulder to shoulder. Venture in here at your own risk.

My visit here started with a lady storming out saying that she would never come back... I should have walked out too. The food is very low quality, you can tell the oil is dirty and the cod was super mushy and either oily or slimy, but the fried batter on it was so thick you almost couldn't notice. The clam chowder was super thick and I could tell by the look on my boyfriend's face that he found it disgusting. Lastly, I was looking forward to the strawberry lemonade, until I took my first sip and immediately regretted every decision I made that led me to eat here. The lemonade tasted like it had chimoy or tajin in it, they do offer a "spicy" version, but that is not what I ordered. The only decent thing was the fries. Just like the lady said when I got there, "I will never come back".

Was in the area recently to have lunch with an old friend/colleague who also loves fish n chips as much as I do. I found Anchors Fish n Chips on Yelp and decided to give them a try. We arrived a little bit after they opened on Friday and were actually the first customers of the day.Upon entering we were immediately greeted and welcomed! The menu was quite extensive with many items other than fish n chips. Being my first time dining here I went with the Fish n Chips Mixto plate which comes with 1 piece of cod, 2 prawns, 2 oysters, 1 scallop, and fries. The food came out relatively quickly. When the food arrived my first thought was "that's a lot of batter". While the piece of cod was decent, I felt that it was a very narrow strip of fish with a lot of batter. With excess of batter comes a bit of oiliness. My favorite was the fried oysters! They were fresh, not fishy, and had great flavor! The fried prawns were pretty big pieces. The French fries were also very good. While the fish was a miss for me, I'll definitely come back and try the Alaskan Halibut fish n chips next time with some fried oysters, of course. I'd also like to try their homemade clam chowder and lobster roll. There's a private parking lot but it did get quite busy around lunch time. They share the complex and parking with a pizza place and Togos.
