No valid phone number. I'd love a place where we can actually get real pasties but it's impossible to find out whether Claudia's is still in business and really has them or if it's a mistake like some other places around here that are listed as having them. Please fix your Google Maps phone number.
I really enjoyed this place and was sorry to see it is not there any longer. :(
Me encantan los Pastes son deliciosos no importa viajar de Tan lejos para comerlos son deliciosos
very unique and tasty empanadas, just wish they were open more often
I just found out about em this month, and I had to have some cuz my mom is from the town that pastes (pahst-ehs)(pasty in English) are from. The town of Real del Monte, Hidalgo, Mexico is the origin for this delicious food. A sloppy history lesson: Cornish settlers from Cornwall England came to Mexico to mine silver. They brought with them recipes for their cornish pasties. Then when they and the Mexican silver miners wanted travel versions of their pasties, the beloved paste was born. It's so loved that there is a festival of the paste in Real del Monte every year, and members of the Cornish Mexican Society visit the town. Now back to my review! I ordered the Beans and Chorizo, waited for a few minutes, and got mine's fresh out of the oven. The paste/pasty is super thick like the ones you buy from the shops in that town, and just as yummy.
Tasty pasties! I sure liked the original pasty.
I absolutely love this place! The taste of the fillings are simply delicious and don't get me started on the flakey crust that is pure perfection. They have 19 different flavors and I'm working my way through but I can't stop ordering Mr. Bean and the apple empanada. I'm glad my husband and I finally wandered in.
I was browsing DoorDash and wasn't too sure what I wanted. I stumbled across some pictures of Claudia's Pastes, and after reading the reviews I decided to just go ahead and try it. It's hard ordering online because once they drop it off, you're pretty much stuck with what you got. So I was in a dilemma, which one do I order? If I order 3 of the same kind and don't like it, then what? So I ordered 4 different ones. I'll rank them in order #1 being the best in my opinion. #4 Poblano Chicken #3 Paste Original #2 Apple Empanada #1 Green Mole Chicken. Granted I know we all have different taste buds and flavors so keep it mind, this is what I liked. All in all, for it being delivered, it came crispy and hot! I also thought from the pictures I've seen that it may be on the dry side (inside) but that wasn't the case. I have my favorite hot sauce at home and it went well with the Pastes. I will for sure order again. I'm always happy to find new places to eat, because it's rare when you find a place you actually like. One more thing, they were a lot bigger in person than on picture!
I enjoyed a chicken pasTe pie with red CHiPOTLE salsa and i had a nice conversaTion wiTh ADOLFO about the origin of the PASTES FROM THE YEAR 1400 iN ENGLAND and how they creaTed their STYLE iN THE STATE OF HiDALGO , MEXiCO AND NOW THEY ARE HERE iN SAN JOSE , CALiFORNiA AND WE CAN ENJOY CLAUDiAS PASTES.

me encanta comer los pastes. y mas que se que tienen de más variedad
This little unassuming shop sells some smokingly good pasties. They have a nice selection of traditional Cornish pastes and some Mexican flavored ones. The pastry is beautiful and buttery, but not overly so. The bacon , egg and potato pasty is excellent breakfast food; the mushroom and vegetables is a great snack pasty, light but tasty. The green mole is tasty but for me feels a little dense, but is still delicious.
This place doesn't look that impressive but I'd be lying if the pastie wasn't beyond great! I got the Red Mole Chicken which was $6 (after tax) and I'd say two of those would be pretty filling for most people. The ambiance is also pretty chill and relaxing.
