Always a phenomenal time here. Constant quality of food and service. The only knock is it's a little smaller and not easy to accommodate larger parties. But the staff here is always amazing and as accommodating as much as possible. My favorite Shabu restaurant in the South Bay.

Got food here the other night and it was delicious. I got the vegetarian options, and my friend got the seafood option, and we both really liked our dishes. As someone who has only had shabu shabu only a couple times before, this is another layer of fun for going out to a restaurant getting to cook your food on your table, on top of good food and excellent service.Vegetarian options: Clearly marked vegetarian options on menu.

Today was my first time trying this hot pot place since my friend recommended it. We came around lunchtime and ordered the Creamy Vegetarian soup base, the Spicy Sichuan soup base, medium sized toro belly, and we got the shack sauce. The inside was busy since it was during lunch hour, but the staff were well organized. When the Creamy Vegetarian soup base first came out, it tasted a bit creamy but it felt like it was missing something. After adding vegetables and the toro belly, the soup base tasted better. I would preferred the Spicy Sichuan soup base with mild spice. The Spicy Sichuan - mild was seasoned well and when you add the vegetables and toro beef, it enhanced the soup base even more! It’s definitely my favorite here! I would also recommend getting the Shack Sauce, even though it’s an extra $0.50 for it. The sauce pairs really well with the toro belly. The toro belly meat was soft and you can taste the quality of it.Service was friendly and food was brought out fairly quickly. This is a good spot to go if you are craving hot pot. I will definitely be coming back to try the other soup bases and meat!

There was a bit of a wait because it's a popular spot, but the service was great, the food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time. I got the seafood and tonkotsu broth, my partner got the Kobe beef and spicy miso. Delicious!

Been here a couple times already. The service is great and doesn't get too busy. I usually get the Spicy Miso which is good with one of every meat. I would highly recommend this place. Everyone here is nice and the service and vibes are good. Will be coming back as normal

This place offered us two different flavored soups giving us options which was nice. The toro and Kobe beef were amazing. Fishball with roe filling always proving an explosive flavor boost to any hotpot so loved that they had this. Overall the hot pot was great but let's talk about the star of the show for me which is the carpaccio that they had. The meat were chilled and thinly sliced. Every bite with the fried onions, lime and leaf (I don't know what veggie that is but I really want to know) was sooooooooo good that I can't really explain it. If you're not scared of raw beef and feeling a bit adventurous then definitely order it during your next visit. Also, the the service was great and offered us really helpful tips for our first time. The restaurant itself is small, black and very cozy. It didn't feel packed at all and it's a place i would take my friends again for fun and chill shabu experience in Japantown.

So good. I had the sukiaki. It was prefect. I ordered the "linguine" and I shouldn't have. It was hard to chew with caps on my teeth. I loved the dipping sauces they offered too.

Great food and fantastic choice of meats. Ambience is very chill and relaxing.Street parking is plentiful. Its a small place but it can fit a party of around 8 people.

I finally got to try Shabu Time after seeing my friends post on their IG story all the time. Our waiter Eric was really helpful with recommending our broths and meat entrees. We ended up getting the Tom Yum and Sukiyaki with a plate of American Kobe Beef, Toro Beef Belly, and Seafood. We also got the Shack sauce and truffle ponzu and it was fire. IMO, this sets them apart from a lot of shabu restaurants. My only complaint tonight was their downstairs neighbor playing loud music. The bass literally rumbled the floor. After dinner, I asked the downstairs neighbor what was going on and apparently they were having a "rock concert".It ruined the ambiance and it was hard to converse over the feedback from the microphone/guitar and the banging of the drums. I did see the other worker going outside to talk to them, but the music continued. She was kind enough to comp us a bottle of sake and desserts for the trouble. I want to come back again and recommend Shabu Time, but it's difficult when the downstair's neighbor ruined the experience.

I love this place! Not only are the meats up to par, but the soup bases are my favorite! I typically go for Tom Yum, but their tonkotsu, sukiyaki, and spicy miso are some notable broths too! 10/10 for meats and broths! It's a pretty intimate place too and I love that because there's something about eating a warm bowl of shabu and sharing with others that should be intimate so the ambiance is really warming. Which leads to their service! Something I've noticed is that their servers are ALWAYS moving and attending to each table. They work hard and are really friendly! I've always had a good experience here and you will too! Shabu Time is definitely one of my favorite hole in the wall places right here in SJ Japantown and with the cold season coming up, I confidently will keep coming :)

This restaurant is located in Japantown so parking parallel to the restaurant is metered. You can always park on one of the side streets and walk over if you are inclined, although there may not be parking at night. Staff have always been friendly and accommodating whenever I come. Sometimes the service itself can be a little slow (I think because they have to slice the meat and sometimes there's only one waiter/waitress for a few tables) so just be aware of that if you want to stop by. I've only had Shabuya Time at lunch, but the portions are good! For two, I usually get the Angus Lean beef (L) and some additional sides. The meal usually adds up to ~$48-60 depending on what I get for two people. The soup bases are flavorful. I've tried the Tom Yum, Spicy Tonkatsu, and Sukiyaki dipping one. The Tom Yum is my favorite. The ingredients are pretty high quality in my opinion. The fish balls with roe actually are the good kind and not the mushy one. The meats are delicious as well. I love how thinly sliced they are, perfect for dipping. Overall it's a great place and I really love it.
