Family owned business. I get my spring rolls at least twice weekly and each time always freshly made. Perfect balance of crunch freshness from the lettuce and mint, savory pork and shrimp with the peanut sauce with a bit of sriracha mixed in the middle. I also like the egg roll. Have yet to try the other dishes once they open for dine in. They are only taking orders to go for now.

Always good! Our favorite spot for Vietnamese noodles! Nestled in beautiful South San Jose. Usually only get to visit Sonny's when we are visiting family in Silicon Valley/ Peninsula. Every time the food is tasty& filling. The imperial rolls are so good! We get the pho chicken soup, spring rolls, and imperial rolls. Thank you Sonny's cafe we love your restaurant!

I've been eating @ this Vietnamese restaurant for more than 15 years. The portions are smaller compared to other Vietnamese restaurants but it's still fresh and delicious. The Bahn Mi's are packed with flavour. The bread is soft and fresh. As well as the vermicelli bowls, pho and rice plates.

With the weather getting warmer, I like to lighten up lunch, so I knew exactly where to go. Sonny's is only doing takeout, so you'll need to call ahead (and be patient), I am never disappointed with my orders. Decided to order the shrimp and pork spring rolls ($7.99) and was so happy with them. I received two rolls- Cold rice noodles, crisp lettuce leaves, boiled shrimp and thin ham slices wrapped in a clear rice wrap-OMG!! The peanut sauce with hot sauce completes the deal; just dip and crunch! I am in love with these bc the ingredients are super fresh and for a very reasonable charge, you can enjoy a super tasty and portable lunch. What keeps me coming back is the fact that it's a family owned business who, like many small businesses, have suffered to remain open during COVID, are still open! Nothing fancy here, but honestly we'll prepared Vietnamese fare! Love their thin noodle chow mein, as well!! So, why not try Sonny's; tell your friends!!

We ordered party trays of BBQ pork, potstickers and egg rolls and everyone was amazed by how delicious the food was. The restaurant provided us with everything that we needed and the proportion of food that we got for the price that we paid was unbelievably great. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to order food for a party, to go or to eat at the restaurant. The service is always good and as I mentioned before the price for food is more than reasonable especially for the quality of food that you are getting. So delicious!!! I ate: BBQ Pork Bahn Mi and chicken Bahn Mi The quality was good, I really liked the size. Great portion size for $5.50. It could have had more carrots but that would be the only change I would make. Service: friendly and prompt. I got take out and I think most of their business comes from takeout. The dining room was empty but I was there on a Sunday evening. The appearance of the dining room was quaint and clean, it looks like it would be a good place to enjoy an authentic meal. Payment: there is a minimum $10 required for non-cash, so I ended up buying two Bahn mi instead of one, not a total loss (except to my waistline!). Just know that if you want something small, bring cash. Overall: yummy food, good service, bring cash, support local small places like this. And leave more reviews to give them status on Yelp!!

I came here after cardio hike and hungry. I got warm welcome and order cup of jasmine tea just to start. In brunch I ordered tofu with noodles, and monkey mocha. Portion of food is enough for one and taste is good too. I will recommend this as place for a quick brunch spot.

This is one of so far my favorite place to go to for soup and rice place. Food is very delicious and price are good too. The service is great. Except the lady who never smile and always frowning. Old man such a hard worker though, He is awesome! I became his regular costumer now.?

Lemongrass beef vermicelli bowl was delicious! Beef was very flavorful and tender. Sauce was spicy.

We ordered the popcorn chicken and calamari rings. We also got the passion fruit green tea w/ lychee jelly. Everything came out pretty quickly and service was good. The food was good but wished it was just a bit more crispy and less salty on the popcorn chicken. The drink itself was perfect, not overly sweet and you could still taste the tea. Overall I would be coming back to try more items from the menu! :)
