Lassens Natural Foods & Vitamins SLO

Sometimes you can write off a cashier having a bad day, but every time I come in they can't even bother to smile or say hello, nothing. Zero engagement. One particular cashier is just so cold and miserable. I have tried multiple times to engage with her with a smile, humor, or just asking how she's doing and I get nothing. Y'all need to start over with some happy employees who care about customer service. I'm done. I'll take my business to Sprouts.

Never buy food from the salad bar! I tried three things and they were all shockingly bad. Every single thing I bought is incredibly tasteless and I didn’t try the hot bar but I would not go there.

Incredibly rude employees. I barely engage with them and they still go out of their way to be unhappy. Maybe find a different job so you don’t have to interact with people.

Great store and great products, sadly unkind and disrespectful service :( hopefully they can turn it around!

I used to really like this store, but the staff are really poor: mean and incapable of forming a helpful or logical reply to any questions. I always came in of the food bar, but lately it doesn't;t have as many health options- three kinds of ribs, greasy chicken, and ham are not healthy food choices.

Unfortunately I will no longer be shopping here. It's gotten pretty bad over the last year with the worst employee attitude and zero customer respect: several employees are rude, distant, unable to make eye contact, don't greet you at the cash register. They sort of grunt at you (because, you know, like, engaging with people is sooo harrrrd. 🙄) They appear to be miserable and self-absorbed. One employee was annoyed that I moved his restocking cart (because he wouldn't) so that I could reach an item that was blocked by his cart. Another employee was at the deli, ignored me completely, and when I finally asked if he could take my order, he snapped that the juice person was on break and he wasn't qualified to help!? It's unacceptable. This is a reflection on management, Lassen's hiring practices, and the store's current culture. You all could learn something about customer service from the awesome baristas at Scout Coffee! The other night at Lassens a young lady cashier, entrenched in her own misery??, didn't greet, didn't speak, just grunted. When I asked her why she didn't say Hello, she responded, It's none of my business. It was the final straw. Congrats! You just lost a longtime customer. I have other choices in SLO like Sprouts, Whole Foods, California Market...and that's where I'll be taking my business. See ya!

Why is it that every employee, including the manager seem so angry and disgruntled? I go in there several times a week for lunch and it could be such a wonderful opportunity to be on a small town vibe where you both know eachothers names. Instead it’s just weird. Salad bar is pretty decent though. I like the food but are they not paid well or even care about being friendly? Such a shame

Amazing hot and cold food bar with lots of options, far better than Whole Foods. I come in for lunch a lot. The grocery section has lots of great choices, and if you focus on the sale items, it offsets the high cost of some things. My only gripe: lately they have had tons of chicken and not enough veggie items on the food bar. Please keep healthy and veg/vegan options and please label everything. I understand that staffing is still hard right now and I don't think comments about staff are warranted, but a bit more training would help the workers at the deli.

I’ve been shopping at Lassens for years and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had at a Lassens. It was 5pm on a Friday night and I went in for a sandwich. Stood there for 10 minutes before I had to ask someone to help me. Yet there were workers all over the store doing nothing. I asked if I could get a sandwich and the guy told me “the deli guy called out and no one else can work the deli counter “. Yet there were employees all over the store. They all seemed stoned and entitled. (We don’t feel like working). I have never been to Lassens where there is nobody working the deli counter! This is a sad excuse for a Lassens.

This is a wonderful natural food market with a great selection of items you won’t find in the chain stores. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Seems expensive for one avocado ? and one tomato ?. Yet, they make a tasty salad with salsa or other dressings. I should have let them ripen some more. So I put half of this salad away til tomorrow. It was softer two days later, yummier.

The hot bar and salad bar need to update their dietary restriction information on their food items, it states the ingredients but it does not show an allergen chart on every item.

I came here to pick up items from DoorDash. The workers were so unwilling to help me look for items. Workers were so rude and arrogant. Tried to talk to the manager but it was the manager who treated me poorly.

Nice place but expensive.
