Great spot by one of the sites I work at. It's less than a minute walk, and the portions are perfect for lunch. I don't get too stuffed to get back to work.

Really enjoyed the poke here, far better than across the street! The scoops are considerably bigger than average, so a 3 scoop bowl is at least as much fish as other places 4 or 5 scoops. The fish tasted very fresh, can't wait to try more combinations and the bahn mi!

Overall good poke. Not cheap...$18 (average poke price) for only 2 choices of meat, not that many choices of meat, I counted 6 maybeBut the meat is really fresh and big and chunky which I think makes the same amount of 3 meats you would get at other placesVege choices are not that many either, I don't have a hard time to choose as at other poke placesIf you get spicy salmon/tuna you probably don't need sauce, it's already flavor enough, adding sauce makes it too salty

Good prices, great quality and friendly staff. The proteins were all pre mixed with sauces but I feel like that made it a lot simpler to order. They still had sauces on the side to add if wanted

I've tried a handful of poke places thus far in the Peninsula and this one is by far my favorite for two main reasons: quality and value. For about $16-17 you get a large bowl of two poke choices. The fish and vegetables are fresh and there is a good variety of different types of marinade. I've had other poke bowls where they limit the amount of fish you get for that price and the freshness of the fish is just not on par. Best bang for your buck. Since this place is in a fairly inconspicuous location (hidden gem for locals), you don't feel as though you're in a long cafeteria line waiting for your turn to pay and watching the clock. That's what makes the service personal. To top that off, Ponzu Poke bar has a pretty good product mix, offering banh mi sandwiches, spam musubi and boba drinks as well.

A hole-in-the-wall type place sorta behind the Whole Foods. Fresh fish and friendly staff. Definitely more authentic than most poke places. Will be back if I'm in the area again.

Hands dowm the best real poke spot in the bay area. Most "poke" places have there fish marinade and you add the sauce in your self, but this place actually marinades there poke like how its done in hawaii. If your craving hawaii poke and you live in the bay area come there and get try there bowls you will thank me later. Side note there pickle Jalapeño are a must try

Now offering bánh mì sandwiches. Roughly 12 dollars including tax, definitely does not disappoint. they take a little extra time to make them with care, and it shows.

Extremely well-made, delicious poke bowls with quality ingredients and good portions. Also shout out to the awesome staff!!! We still come back from time to time after having relocated.

Go here if you want to get their idea of poke without many customizations. Decenrt flavors, but not a lot of options. They cancelled a large part of my order for being unavailable, and I didn't find out until I picked up: advanced notice would have been appreciated.

FOOD - (4.5/5) Really good Poki since every fish that we ordered had the fish pre seasoned with sauce. Came with free seaweed salad and crab meat. Only problem is that large bowls here is only 3 scoop. SERVICE - (5/5) The service was not bad and took care of large orders pretty quickly. VIBES - (5/5) The picnic place in front of the water was nice since it also have shade from the ferns.

Very good poke, including vegetarian options. My partner introduced this place to me, and now we come here whenever we're nearby.

Maaan I really wanted to like this spot but my order was missing half of the ingredients. I ordered a vegan banh mi and the fillings it says that's included was missing half of it! If you didn't have the ingredients available it would be a courtesy to mention it or replace it with something else. Portions of the poke are small, I ordered a L and in most other poke spots it's the same as a small or medium. Rip off.

This place is the closest thing I could find to Hawaiian style poke in San Mateo. The fish here is super fresh! I love the house special and the wasabi tuna the most. Recently they added banh mi to their menu and it’s seriously delicious. For me a good banh mi doesn’t cut the roof of your mouth and this place def didn’t cut me. The banh mi was also pretty filled with meat. I’m pretty happy with everything I got and will be back.

One of our favorite poke places in the Bay! The fish always, always fresh and they are so generous with portions. Every time I end up with leftovers! You really couldn't go wrong with any of their poke but I love spicy and their spicy tuna is on point!! House special and garlic shoyu is my go to as well! It's a family owned business and everyone is so kind and accommodating. They added banh mi recently, we tried the lemongrass pork and it SLAPS! The portion is huge and it was so flavorful, with fresh veggies/herbs. TLDR; amazing, fresh fish and big portions! Please give this place a try for your next poke craving! :)
