Food was good only because I love sushi, but, you can most definitely find a better place. The food was good, came out quick and decently priced ?

Amazing Sushi at affordable prices. And they have a special dumpling sauce which I really like! I am a consistent here :)

They don't respect the customers, the kitchen is very late and the waitress, who seems to me to be the owner or manager, is very rude

Good Japanese restaurant. A bit pricey for me.

This place is just not good. The fish is not fresh. The rolls are a mess and fall apart. They mess up your order. I've tried to give them a shot multiple times and always have stomach issues after a meal here. They are just cutting corners.

Do not come here. Visited this place to try a new place and came out disappointed. When my wife and first walked in with our masks on, our waitress was very friendly. After we were seated with the menu, we took our masked off and the waitress body language immediately changed from being super polite to I don't want to serve you. My wife ordered the Sashimi and Teriyaki Salmon dinner combo. Our waitress came back with an attitude and asked what kind of Sashimi we wanted. We were a bit confused because it shows "Chef's Choice...". The waitress looked irritated and annoyed with us every since we took our mask off. It seem liked she didn't like us because we belong to a different Asian group and/or she didn't like serving younger people than her. It was very obvious she didn't want to serve us. She knew she didn't do a good job with us and even purposely hide the receipt so we wouldn't know her name. The waitress is the shorter one with glasses and name was something like "Sichi Lee". What a world we live in. Asians hating against Asians. This is just sad.

The food here is pretty consistent and the restaurant is now open for in-person dining. I live in Half Moon Bay, and we also have a Shiki Sushi, but the prices in Half Moon Bay are about $2-4 more expensive than the same rolls in San Mateo. For instance, the Phoenix roll in San Mateo costs $15, but the same roll is $17 in Half Moon Bay. Goma Tuna Totaki in Half Moon Bay is $15, and in San Mateo it is $13. All that to say to save your wallet and eat in the San Mateo location if you had to choose between the two locations. The service could be just a bit better in San Mateo. Although very friendly, our server was very eager for us to order, and when we would ask for an extra minute we would get about 20 seconds before she would come back. And yet when we needed the check she was nowhere to be found and we sat for an extra 10 minutes ready to go, but nobody to flag down for the bill.

Honestly never coming here first and last time first of all the lady that help me was rude and second it was $13.64 for 3 little slices of sushi and a miso soup crazy I can definitely get more for $13 at old town and tastiest way better

This is a review in terms of their SERVICE via DoorDash, not food. I ordered via DoorDash a bento box at dinner time. The menu on DD said "Bento Box/L: Choice of any 2 items, served with miso soup, spring mix salad & steamed rice" so I placed my order. I get a call a minute later saying they do not have bento boxes at dinner so I need to cancel my order. I hung up and tried to cancel, only to find out that they had already marked it as started, so I would only get refunded $3 instead of almost $18. I called back to ask them to cancel it on their end because I could not and they said I was wrong and I needed to cancel it and she could not cancel it herself. In the meantime, the dasher arrived to pick up the order, so clearly, in the system, it was getting processed and my meal was theoretically being made. She then tried to replace my order with a different item and my credit card was charged one more time, for $25 this time. She then said I had to cancel that one as well and she couldn't figure out how to cancel it herself. OMG. I finally asked her to see if anyone else could take care of this because I could not on my end and it was NOT my fault. It looks a refund was processed for BOTH orders thankfully, but this was not a good experience in terms of service and knowing how to use the merchant end of DoorDash. I didn't even get to try their food and probably won't.

The grilled salmon was good. The rolls were good. The margaritas were good. The lava cake??? As surprised as I was to see this on the dessert menu, it sounded too good to pass up. Not only did it take an hour to get to the table, the chocolate cake tasted like a two-year-old made it. It didn't even taste like cake. I don't even know how to describe it. It was awful. This place has tasty food, but definitely do not go for the desert.

Ordered the Spicy Tuna hand roll. It was alright but kind of pricey given the portion. The employees were rude, though.

I ordered today from this place through DoorDash. I thought the food was a bit pricey but still decided to give it a try. When the food arrived it seem ok (first picture) but thought the shrimps were too expensive $13! for the amount of shrimps received (Receipt included). Then when I was 1/2 way through my food, I see what it seem to be a fruit fly in the sauce (third picture). I had to throw my food away. Don't think I'll order from this place again.
