Velasquez Restaurant Reviews

Carne Asada Nicaragüense style was on point!!! They had Bajo and Nacatamles on the menu but they were not available when we went. Would love to see more Nicaraguan options on a regular basis. We need Nicaraguan food in the East Bay!

We stopped in here while my car was getting looked at. No other customers in there but us. We order our food and had to repeat it a few times because she doesn't speak English to well. We get our food 45 mins later. She was the only one working besides this older lady who did not understand English or no how to work. It was quite annoying. This place just opened up. I've only ordered their burritos so far but they are huge and tasty (shrimp burrito was was really good). Not too greasy and the red hot sauce is awesome. I think their food tastes better than other spots in the vicinity. They give you free chips and guacamole too. The small dining area is clean and simple. Doesn't get too busy and loud yet which I prefer. I think they are like a mom and pop restaurant. They stay open pretty late too till 10pm.
