Best fried chicken I've found so far and im from the midwest!! Also ask for Ali! She will take care of you!!
We first experienced Celia's in 1974. We recently visited the San Rafael restaurant and glad the food is as good as I remember.
When I want the kind of Mexican food I loved as a child, Celia's is where I go!
Best Mexican food I’ve eaten!
Best authentic Mexican food around. Also best margaritas. They never disappoint.

If I could give a zero star rating I would… I went for dinner with my family last night and it was absolutely disgusting. I ordered a chile relleno, my husband ordered a burrito and my kids ordered tacos. The so called chile relleno was a disgusting blob of melted cheese wrapped in god knows what because it wasn’t an egg batter with a tiny sliver of chile inside and it came with I could only describe as week old coleslaw. The waiter said this was an “American style” chile relleno never heard of that before but ok. My husband tried to eat his burrito and almost threw up saying the beans tasted rancid. My son’s tacos were more onion than meat and extremely bland burnt steak. My daughter’s chicken was dry and salty but honestly the only eatable thing that we ordered. Even the chips they brought out were old and disgusting. Out of all the Mexican restaurants I’ve been to my whole life this was the absolute worst I don’t understand how they are still in business and that statement came from both of my kids. So disappointed and disgusted with this place. Considering how disgusting this place is the price they charge for their food is ridiculous. I don’t understand the higher ratings those people must not have tastebuds.

My husband's work had their end-of-year celebration dinner here a few days ago. My husband brought some takeout with him for me to have at home. We live 15 minutes away.
He had order the carne asada fajitas. I understand food travel will cause the food to get cold due to travel time. However, I am reviewing based on the food flavor and ingredients.
There was an excess amount of green onion. The type used in Asian cuisine. There were some onions and green bell peppers.
The meat was not sliced correctly; instead, it was large strips of meat (1.5 in by 5 in). There was no seasoning besides the grill marks that had hints of seasoning.
The tortillas, beans, cheese, and rice were bland, and no evidence of any seasoning.
Unfortunately, this meal was the worst Mexican food I've ever sampled. I had three bites before I stopped and threw the rest out into the compost bin.
If you have traveled to Mexico or have sampled Mexican food in Southern California; you most likely find this place disappointing. I would not recommend eating here if you know and understand Mexican cuisine.

Been eating at Celia's for over 30 years. It's been a few years, but went there recently and it was still awesome. The food has never changed, simple but delicious. And one thing the staff has worked there forever, they are friendly and always welcoming. 😁😋

I went here for an event. Plenty of overflow parking. I liked what I tried except the salsa tasted like it was made with strong tap water or something. It just had this overpowering taste that I didn't like. The chicken wings are good though.

Wow, has this place changed! I placed a pick up/to go order, and ordered the Avocado Tostada, price on menu $8.25. I ask the girl if I could have a side of beans. She said do You want tortillas, To which I replied no.
When I got there they presented a check to me for $23.98.
Apparently they charge $15 for a side of beans.
The girl never advised me of this and when I brought it to the attention of the attendant he brought it to the attention of the manager and they justified the price $15 for a side of beans although on the menu it says $7 for a side of beans with three tortillas?????
I'm 58 years old and we grew up going here on a weekly basis My dad knew the owner they'd come by and say hello.
What happened to the integrity of this place I'm appalled I came down from Placerville and was so excited to go to my favorite restaurant and that's how I was treated.
They treated me like I was a three-headed purple monster rather than taking accountability for trying to gig me on a side of beans.
I'll be speaking with a better business bureau next.
This really makes me sad what a shame!
