Was visiting Hearst Castle and was looking for something fast and convenient. It was that. What I didnā€™t like is that he asked if I wanted rice and beans....well, yes...Then when I got the ticketā€”he charges me for the entree plus 7.00 for rice and beans. So $20 for a basic meal though portions were huge.

Finest place to get food when in a hurry. The service is speedy, rates are reasonable, awesome ambience. Will visit here again

Waited a while before someone too our drink order. Was not crowded at all. Waited a while for a refill on our drinks all the while a young lady was coming back and forth checking on people bringing refills on chips. Server was nice. Food was just OK.

Great Margaritas! Good choice of dishes and large portions (well to us Brits!). Prices good for the area. Salsa was the best we've tasted so far on our road trip. Recommended if staying in San Simeon and want a good meal and don't want to break the bank.

This place was horrible! When we asked for a table the front desk rolled her eyes at us because we were a party of 5, I guess. Sat for 20 minutes before anyone came by, place was not crowded. Tortillas could have been mistaken for tea saucers, they'd obviously been microwaved to death. The chicken fajitas were more like stewed peppers with no chicken and the price was ridiculous. You're better off going across the street.

When we walked in there was a musty smell. Took a longer than normal time to be seated, even though there were many tables available. Took much longer than normal to get a waitress to approach our table. Shortly after we ordered the lights in our section went out, but none of the wait staff seemed to care. There was light coming through the windows, but certainly not enough. When our food finally came we had to ask that the lights be turned on. And the food was the worst. Definitely no authentic Mexican cooking there.

Just ate here and it is an ok but not great Mexican restaurant. Did not have a traditional Margarita but the wine margarita they did have was good. Food was good not great. Atmosphere was ok.

Visited San Simeon for one night and decided the easiest dinner spot was right next to our hotel. The complimentary chips and spicy salsa was a nice treat. Service was friendly but a little slow for a non-busy time during dinner. I ordered the shrimp fajitas with 3 corn tortillas and beans and rice. It was average in taste but large in portion. Other orders at the table were the beef fajitas, asada and ground beef tacos which were all good. Pricing is mid range $15-$18. Not a bad place.

Decided to eat here because it was close by our hotel. Service was slow, food was tasteless and greasy. All we ordered was a taco and a quesadilla and that was $50.00 Will never eat here again, Taco Bell has better flavor than this place. El Chorlito gives you some chorrito

Hungry for some Mexican food while on a camping trip along Highway 1, we tagged El Chorlito for supper one afternoon. As we arrived after lunch and before supper time, there were only a few people in the restaurant. There's a nice garden to look at, seating inside or out, with the ocean nearby by barely visible. Our order came slowly and was relatively hot, but lacked much flavor. We ordered spicier salsa and added salt. As we were leaving, a large Hispanic family was seated in the huge meeting room--guess they like their Mexican food mild!

Gorgeous views, pretty garden patio, dog friendly, good food and broad menu. Had a lovely dinner with some friends, and enjoyed the wine margaritas, though I was skeptical at first. Only 4 stars because the price was very high, even for that area and the tortillas were cold and hard by the time our meal was delivered. Still had a very lovely experience and will undoubtedly be back.

Cute little restaurant with adorable succulent plants surrounding the building as well as a garden. There is also outdoor seating. I liked the very friendly, polite and nice male waiters, who worked there! The food was delicious and plated nicely! They also gave yummy salsa and chips before our meal. The price was also very reasonable! We will definitely be back again!

One of us ordered a chicken taquito and taco. Good white meat chicken. Very tasty rice and beans. I ordered beef fajitas. Loved the option of ordering al a carte. Which made it reasonable. Very tasty beef. Salsa was the best part. Only have wine margaritas, while not very strong, was very good. Service was excellent and the view of the garden beautiful

This is not traditional Mexican food, it's New Mexico style. But the food here is good. Mole sauce is really good and the steak fajitas have a lot of flavor and the steak is tender. Chips and salsa taste very fresh. We love this place and come every time we are in the area. And if you sit on the patio or by the window you can't beat the view!

Great location, good service and Bland food. Taco shells were bad. You need to have an option for soft, hard shells. The default hard shells were breaking open unable to hold the stuff inside. Ingredients looked fresh but you need to work on the taste.

June 14, 2019 visit- driving down from Monterey after visiting Hearst Castle. We couldnā€™t decide where to eat. We finally chose this place and it was amazing! Our waitress was wonderful and the food was soooo good. We donā€™t generally eat Mexican but this was well worth it! Make sure you check out the zebras just past this place in the pasture!

This place is great, we came with the family and a great time, from the salsa and guacamole for starters to the great burrito and enchiladas we got. I tried the New Mexico style enchiladas and its a very nice twist on a classic. They have a beautiful garden and paintings on the wall, you can eat outside and the service is super friendly.

This restaurant is more than just a restaurant. Family run & loved for over 40 years. Comfort Mexican food. You can always count on what you expect. Locals love it, so will you.

Came in 10 minutes before closing and the waiter still sat us down and was polite the entire time. Made us feel like wanted customers. Highly recommend
