We have been to Sama Sama several times since we arrived in SB a few years ago. It is one if not the best restaurant in town at an affordable price for the quality offered. The Market Fried Fish is a must if available on the menu! Wine list is excellent.Strongly recommend!

Very small portions that would not satisfy a hungry brood and ridiculously expensive for what it offers in terms of value for money. Probably affordable for high living Californians but certainly an indulgence for the rest of us.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor venue , easily accessible by pedestrians and wheelchair users

$16 for a small bowl of nasi goreng? Plus, there is a 20% mandatory service fee, so it ends up being close to $20? Ridiculous!

Was a good place. Had their nasai goreng jawa and a fish curry which was slow cooked. Even though the quantity was less, food tasted amazing.

If I could give 10 stars I would! The two bartenders were amazing! These two ladies new their stuff, recommended some amazing drinks. We already knew what we were ordering on someone else's recommendation. You have to try the Crispy Duck Salad. It is Out. Of. This. World. Tasty. We also had their signature wings with both sauces. They are just as worthy!Only con about this place was that we went the last night we were in town and couldn't go back for more.Sama Sama Kitchen will be our first stop when we return soon.

Food is more like semi Asian street food but in a fine dining style (very small portion and pricy. The environment is nice tho. Also on reservation it asked what’s the occasion, we mentioned it’s a bday dinner but was not acknowledged at all during dining. So overall experience is just ok.

I walked into this place expecting good food but honestly I was blown away with the food. Everything was just special. The duck salad was crispy, fresh, and had a very unique south-east Asian flavor. The signature chicken wings were amazing, highly recommend squeezing the lemon on the wings as the flavor elevates. The nasi goreng tasted authentic. The Javanese braised chicken tasted delightful and very different from anything I have ever had. It goes well with the yellow coconut rice. Highly recommend this place!

What I REALLY wish I had a picture of is the crispy rice salad.... But I always dive in immediately and forget a photo. It is honestly one of my most favorite dishes, anywhere. Super crunchy and flavorful and I crave it all the time. Order 2 for the table because you won't want to share. Fantastic cocktails and rotating seasonal specials. We keep coming back again and again. Highly recommend for both a quick lunch or romantic dinner date. This spot hits on so many levels.
