H-Pop Local Guide

This is a real authentic Santa Cruz coffee shop for sure! Local flavor clientele adds to the ambiance.Independent & locally owned, Super friendly staff keeps the line moving when it’s busy. It’s easy to feel comfortable to hang out with the regulars. They offer free WiFi & it seems like you could stay there the whole day. The space has a few tables and a couch inside, as well as seating all around the outside of the building. They have The Peoples Coffee, not sure how they roast it but it was freshly brewed and really good & hot. We also ordered over night oats with a fresh banana.Great way to start the day! Excellent location near the beach & centrally located in the area near other shops in a strip center.Parking: Parking in front and rear in parking lot. It is busy but was able to find parking easily. Plenty of Street parking is also available nearby

This is my go to coffee shop. Number one they have really good coffee and they have the best service by far with the most friendly people. The environment is Just Way, Santa Cruz. Lots of good surf memorabilia. And they play awesome music. Lots of places to sit around at tables couches inside outside. Recommend this place and what's very very important is it is locally owned and operated so your money stays in Santa Cruz that's very very important Support local only.

Awesome coffee! They don't do drip. It's all expresso and delicious. Curtis, the owner, treats employees great and they stick around which is a wonderful bonus on top of the great coffee. I work out of town a lot and only get in 3-4 times a year and the girls always remember me. I have been going into Peoples Coffee as long as they've been open and it's always a treat. We'll see how long we can keep the streak going! Thanks for being there everyone.

Great friendly place. Locals hangout...the owner and his staff usually know your name after a few coffees. Warm area to just relax.

Cozy place, but the stuff they sell isn't tasty...had a watery americano from a nice girl, then a bagel and a cookie a little later. The cookie was stale and the bagel had one serving of cream cheese which is spreading it very thin, quite literally.

Excellent fast service. Well done coffee, late, cappuccino.

The drip coffee was just OK and the sandwiches were premade and heated before serving. Although the place looked very cool (lots of surfer stuff) and would cater to families with kids, I thought the coffee was nothing special and the food was also not great. Don't go out of your way for this place.

People's Coffee is an interesting local coffee shop, but I probably wouldn't go back. The coffee was rich, and well balance, but the prices left a bitter taste in my mouth. They charge $4.75 for a somewhat large (20oz I believe) cup of drip coffee. Then another $.25 for the cup. Lol! According to the staff it's due to a city ordinance, but really? Can't they just add it into the already high price of the coffee. Nobody else charges this much for middle of the road drip coffee. I asked for room for cream, so l they filled my cup about 3/4 full. Seriously? I don't put 6oz of cream in my coffee. Does anyone? They did add more coffee, but didn't top it off, after I asked for more. Try this place if you must, but be prepared for high prices and short pours.

Great service! The lady working there at the lady was so friendly and nice. We ended up ordering a banana mocha and it was huge! Perfect for two people. There were a lot of comfy sofas and chairs inside and we were able to relax and chill.

Only decent espresso in SC maybe other than SCRC. Good seating and temperature. Verve is too loud and busy, Tabby is too hot, SCRC is too dark and smells nasty

First time at this place, great service, cool little neighborhood place and my espresso macchiato was perfect. Definitely adding to our favorite place for coffee.
