seaweed salad and gyoza were great to start! the ambiance feels moderately dedicated towards japanese culture which is always a plus. they may have been understaffed when I came, but service was a bit weak. The ramen entree left a bit more to be desired flavor-wise, but I do really appreciate the vibe in the establishment. I would come again!

Went here on a Wednesday night for dinner and really wanted to like the place but wasn’t impressed. I got the Garnet (miso sauce) and my partner got the Quartz vegan (creamy sauce). Each bowl cost $16 which seems expensive and was by no means a larger than normal size. And adding an egg was $3.50 which seems excessive. Service was also quite slow (20 mins to get food), but the 1 waiter and 1 cook were doing all they could to serve the 6+ groups present. Get them some help! The food was alright but nothing to write home about. Probably won’t come back, unless they hire additional staff.

When we came in, there was only 3 tables occupied so how busy can you be, even so, we accepted the 20-30 min wait, for the ramen. 30- 40 mins after we got our appetizer, that's when the food arrived. When the waiter got on the phone with the manager, then approach our table, and said "ok, soo my manager said we can remake it or come back another time and get it BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT RIGHT NOW!!" (How is that a free meal) I'm the only one that stays in LA, my friends don't, there flight was the next evening. So I decline the offer and I was not going to wait another 45 mins for yall to make it. Y'all mess up 4 bowls of noddle with one having a fly in it . OVER IT!! Ms Ruri, the whole extra "come back to I'll make it special and personally make the ramen " was never said. he came back twice to tell us the same thing. The third time the waiter came with the check, told us " here but my manager said you guys can't come here again". Ms. Ruri you said what you said, (which I was personally disgusted and baffled) and that's it. Claiming you have "so-called African Americans" in circle makes no difference on ur intentions. (Girl bye) It's funny when your trying to save yourself for looking bad, after Ms Ruri!! The mention of a free meal was soooooo FALSE. Why are you lying!!! It still doesn't explain why we were told not to come to the establishement anymore. 'WHAT WAS THE REASON!!' Cardi b voice. I will never come nor recommend this place. That's it. Have a good rest of your life!! Should of went to TATSU ramen, the least they do is have cooked edible food.

So, I got one spicy garnet ramen and one spicy miso ramen (can't remember what they were called) along with the kids menu pearl ramen and although the customer service was great, the food wasn't. The broth was oily and the noodles had a rough texture to it as well as the after taste. I spent $70 and from what we got, I don't think it's worth it :/

Good stuff. They're seriously understaffed. Let's go support them so they can hire more cooks and servers. Food is good but not really a place for people who don't eat pork.

It's been a while since I've had a dining experience this disappointing. I understand the staffing situation with COVID, but if you can't provide the bare minimum to a paying patron, you probably shouldn't be open. I blame the ownership for only having one server and one person in the kitchen and no management oversight on site. There were only 4 other parties in the restaurant, but our food still took 1 hour to arrive. And when it did, the broth was extremely over salted, the noodles either under or over cooked, and my 9 yo could not even eat the corn or egg that came with his as it tasted like it had 4x the amount of salt as normal. Ramen restaurants are commonplace here in the west side and we eat at them 1-2x a month and they are all able to put out an acceptable product. I get it, times are tough, but when a customer pays $80 for 4 subpar bowls of noodles that take an hour, you probably should close your restaurant. It's unfair to your staff and to your customers!

They were out of everything. They host was rushing because its about 40 mins before closing time. There were a lot of NOs. We ordered spicy tuna roll and it came out just spicy tuna on top of rice that is falling over. 80 percent of the ingredients weren't there. No seaweed. No spicy mayo. No FRIED Onion. The host blatantly told us we received what we received because the chef was in a hurry. Was not a good experience.

Worst experience ever. I would have given it negative stars if I could. If they can't run a restaurant they should shut it down. We waited to be seated (after being accepted by the reception) for 20 min and then the waiter just tells us that they can't serve us because they are under staffed and they will close in an hour so they can't cook food in time! Then he runs off and keeps ignoring us. If understaffed, just don't open up the restaurant or don't tell customers that you will be seated and then change your mind and waste people's time. Don't bother going there. There was no manager in the restaurant to complain to. It's not wise to eat at a place that no one knows what they should be doing.

Came across Rakkan in the local LA/OC free Japanese magazines, and papers you can find at Japanese market stores. The October Japanese Ramen magazine. Using it as a checklist of places to try out. Rakkan had several featured in the magazine that we tried. The family enjoyed Amber, kids ramen, and I enjoyed Spicy Garnet. OMG this place is good. Broth was full of flavor, noodles, dante, and good amount of toppings. It is great to come across a Japanese based ramen location and can see it is worth the drive from Inland Empire. Thank you Rakkan. We will be back.

Ordered takeout through yelp(DoorDash) and got a ramen bowl to help me warm up on a cold foggy day. Everything was separate which was great for transport. Toppings and noodles in a different bowl from broth but the broth was luke warm at best and the toppings were cold as if they've been chilling in a fridge all day waiting for an order. The egg was cold and brown on the outside. Flavor of the broth was good but the temperature of the broth was barely warm enough to soften the cold noodles and only got colder once the noodles sat for a bit. What's worse was there was a tiny ant that came out of the bag while eating the cold ramen.

I felt real.bad fir the lady running the place when I was there. I believe she was the only one working. Yes it took an hour to get my food, but here again, I don't think anyone else was working that lunch The Ramen was pretty good. I got the Garnet. The broth was tastier than I expected for being a vegetarian broth. Unfortunately they had the kind of noodles i don't like, but the flavor of the broth was enough to make up for it. If this place could manage to get another employee or two, I'd say it's worth it.

I've been to this location twice (once recently, during COVID). I'm impressed my the ramen. Before coming here, I was under the impression that tonkotsu, or pork based, broth was superior to vegetable based broths (mostly because I haven't historically had any veggie broths that were good). This place proved me wrong: their broth is fantastic and very rich and I wouldn't mind getting this over pork based broths. Noodles are portioned well and has a good chew. I ordered the spicy garnet recently and it came with two slices of pork, but disappointingly, only one half of an egg. That's my only gripe: $16+ for a bowl of ramen, surely they can spare the other half of that egg? I've come here both times for lunch and the service was friendly and very fast. The hot bowl of ramen comes out in less than 5 min. I recommend trying this place if you're looking to give non-pork broths a chance.

This place is NEVER opened. I have walked over multiple times around 7pm on days that the websites say they are opened and it's always closed. Update your hours!

I'm currently enduring an extremely frustrating experience attempting to get takeout. First I tried to order online but noticed that even for takeout, menu items are marked up by 40% on the ordering platforms, so I just figured I'd call so I wouldn't be ripped off. However the person who picked up the phone just put it down and left me to listen to the sounds of the restaurant for 10 minutes while I drove there and just ended up placing my order in person. Now I'm waiting 45 minutes and counting for two ramens which seems absurdly slow for a restaurant that serves only ramen. Clean up your act, Rakkan!

Server was great, but the food was not good at all. My sister and I both ordered the Miso Garnet ramen and what we got was freezing cold tofu, cold egg and literally whole wheat spaghetti, not ramen noodles. The only thing that was mildly enjoyable was the broth. They didn't even have sriracha for some reason, found that to be a little strange for a ramen place. I never leave bad reviews for restaurants because I understand the negative effect they can have on business and sometimes it's just a fluke thing, but it was just SO bad I needed to warn people before they waste their time.
