Food: 3.5/5Overall: A good option for some island food in Santa Rosa.Would I come back: If I was in Santa Rosa and was craving some island food yes indeed. The extended review…Food:Canoa con carne molida - 3.5/5 - Never seen this dish at any other island restaurant. I’m a fan of all the components so gave it a go. I would have liked a little more meat but overall not bad.Flan - 4/5 - A very creamy and silky flan. Best of all it didn’t have the skin that results from overcooking. - Friendly and attentive service. - A very festively decorated interior.

Delicious food here, don't miss if you love plantains. This is our favorite restaurant to visit when we're in the area. Nearly everything on the menu is gluten free (although they don't guarantee no cross- contamination).

Amazing food. It's no wonder they win awards every year. Restaurant is close to my heart as this was the first restaurant my wife to be brought me to when I first moved to Sonoma County. Pollo all Horno is delicious, my go to dish every time.Parking: Paid parking lot less than a block away. Free parking, both street and lot, available after 6pm.

Great choices. I had the chicken thighs with rice, beans, plantains and fresh veggies on the side. Incredible amount of food. Coconut flan for dessert and a doggie bag .

Very nice Puerto Rican restaurant in downtown Santa Rosa. They have great, tasty food and it actually impressed me. The plantains, chicken and fish, were cooked to perfection.Unfortunately the service on the other hand was horrible. Took 35 minutes for drinks to come out, and waitress on her phone. The sangrias were not authentic, not even a little bit.The rice pudding dessert was a 10/10

Well, I would share pictures of the food, but it was so good I ate it too fast. Lol. Brought my mother who's visiting from Puerto Rico. The food and service were wonderful as always. This place has never disappointed me. We drove 2.5 hours just to eat here today ;). And I don't regret it.

Having eaten countless times at another, super-popular Puerto Rican restaurant in San Rafael, I was hoping to convince my partner of how awesome the food was.The food was, indeed, good. (Although the pique is runny and bland.) But things went south when my guy — an elderly gentleman of Native American and Mexican heritage — asked for tortillas. The waitress pretended to understand, but when they didn’t show up, and we asked again — not knowing that there is only one culturally permissible option when dining on Puerto Rican cuisine — and were icily informed the restaurant had nothing of that nature. It would’ve been cool if the waitress had said, “we have pan sobao instead, would you like that?” Cuz my poor guy just wanted something breadlike to accompany his rice & beans.Nope. We were left alone (at the time there were only 4 tables with 2 waitstaff) — had to search out the one restroom by ourselves and fetch our own carry out boxes — until it was time to see if we would order dessert to increase the size of our bill. Was this a classist thing? I.e., that only an ignorant peasant would ask for something as low brow as a tortilla? (giggle) ? Dunno. But from now on, we will drive the extra 45 minutes in another direction for our comida puertorriqueña.

I love this place! You literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu but if you are lucky enough to get the pasteles during the holidays do yourself a favor and buy a bunch!!!

I used to love eating here, but lately, I have a hard time coming. Yes, the food is good, but the portions seem to be getting smaller each time I come. It's not fine dining ?.11/21/23 dinner timeCame back again, and this might as well be my last visit. As much as I love the food, the prices are crazy. 2 different prices for lunch and dinner. I ordered palomilla Encebollado at dinner time for $23.50, for lunch is $18.75Plus, they charge for the to go bag and fork. Why ask if I need a fork on my to go food?

I missed this place, haven't been here in a while. Flavors were delicious. I came for lunch, but was stunned at the size, not even portion, of the actual plate itself. It was a chore to try and trim my beef on the plate ?️ it was falling everywhere. Like doing micro surgery. The portion could even be accepted but it was also tiny for lunch, out the door for a plate was over $23 Dollars, which made the shrinkflation noticeable in my belly also. Probably won't be coming back again for lunch at least, there's definitely better value elsewhere.
