My family and I were a bit disappointed .The staff and our server was great. We started with fried clams and clam chower as our appetizers and they were absolutely amazing. So we new our main entrees were going to be fabulous. Unfortunately, the fish and chips and sandabs dinners lacked flavor. The soft shell crab was short on crab. Please do better ?. So many people's have recommended your food to us. What happened?

This place is great for families of 3 or more. The portions are great and the "from the fryer" menu items were great for my family (2 adults and two kids)We ordered 1lb each of calamari, jumbo shrimp and local cod and 1 side each of garlic fries and lettuce salad. All three main entrees were moist and delicious and most important no rubbery texture. Now this is not a scenic place were you pay a lot to be on the pier but the food is as good or better. The hosts are super friendly and they do take credit cards.

Service was super pleasant, staff was kind and very welcoming. We ordered the ciopino, clam strips, clam chowder, and jumbo shrimp. Kid menu was great, our son had the chicken strips with macaroni and cheese. Everything was delish. My FAVORITE part was the fresh sautéed vegetables. EVERYTHING was delicious and plentiful. AND the BEST key lime pie we took to go. That will be on my list everytime we visit ?

Quaint little hole-in-the-wall, place with great clam chowder and sourdough bread.I also had the beer battered fish which was 2 large, thick, pieces of fish cooked perfectly. The fries were tasty but I prefer a thicker cut potato.Staff were great! We dined at the outside tables.Would definitely return.

I did love it...this location was formerly The Fishwife in Seaside. I ordered the fried catfish sandwich that came with fries. I thoroughly enjoyed the food...added a little Tabasco to my sandwich...excellent! The fries were wonderfully seasoned. The venue is clean and the owners very personable. Items are a bit pricey, but everything is these days. I will support thilocal business.

We were in the mood for good clam chowder and a quick meal. This place was great. I had the calamari and chips and it was the best fried calamari I have ever had. The portion was huge too. My wife had the fish and chips and it was fantastic. We were in a hurry and didn't pay close attention to what others were having but the place was busy inside and out. I would love to go back my next time in the Monterey area.

I love this restaurant! We had a mishap tonight, but the owner responded quickly. You will not be disappointed. Clam chowder 10/10.

Great seafood for the price. The restaurant was modest and not busy when I took my parents out for dinner. Sides were good. I had blackened sandabs (first time I'd ever tried it), mom had prawns. Side portions were generous. Service was friendly and fairly fast.

After a 33 mile bike ride my husband and I were hungry. And the Seaside Seafood and Market did not disappoint. I ordered the country fried fish and garlic chips. Fantastic! Big pieces of fish and tons of garlic fries, lightly buttered and seasoned with garlic. Top it off with eating outside and Diet Coke with lemon! I wouldn't change a thing!! You HAVE TO COME HERE! The cook and waitress were darling too!!

Passing through town for lunch and so glad we found this spot. Diverse menu, seafood, soul food, and great service. Outdoor seating was great and very nice inside seating as well. I loved the black eyed peas and rice. So much so, I'd like to recommend we get more peas. I'm a southern girl, born and raised in Texas, so we like our portions of peas to be BIGGER! Looking forward coming back.

Wow! We stopped in on a whim with four adults and two young kids. Everything was absolutely excellent. Portions are more than generous and prices are quite reasonable. The fish tasted fresh and was not greasy. It can be so hard to find fish and chips that isn't dripping in grease, but this place nails it. The kids were happy with their chicken strips and fries and the server was lovely. She was knowledgeable about the menu and took care to help one member of our party find gluten free options for her meal. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant.

My teens and I were visiting Monterey and wanted to try the local sea food. Decided to try this place. It's not fancy at all. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The waitress was really nice and on top of things. We all ordered clam chowder and it was good. I ordered the battered fish and chips but upgraded to garlic fries. The garlic fries were good but the fish was just okay. I've had better out of a box. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had liked the tartar sauce but it had a mustard flavor to it that I didn't like. My kids didn't like the tartar either. My son got the country fried fish and chips and didn't care much for it either. My daughter got the calamari and garlic fries and she said the calamari was very bland. Overall I would not recommend it. It was $100 for mediocre food.

Stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. Wife had the local cod fish and garlic fries. Very fresh fish with a crispy beer batter. I got the calamari strips and garlic fries. Crunchy crisp crust and tender calamari. Friendly staff and bright and clean decor. Didn't have a chance to try the shrimp and grits. Next time!
