Omg the absolute BEST clam chowder bread bowl I have ever had!!! If you are near the Monterey area, this is a definite MUST! I wish I had more time but we were on our way elsewhere so I just ordered this to go. Grateful they had the soup separate in a container then I was able to pour into the bread bowl. The bread bowl was brushed with garlic and butter omg so delicious! This is my new favorite!

I saw this place when I was driving by on the way to FedEx and thought it looked interesting. My wife and I ended up trying it for my birthday and were delighted with it. The food was very good - I had blackened catfish with black eye peas and coleslaw and my wife had a shrimp Louie. What really sealed the deal though, was the great service. The young man who waited on was helpful with menu suggestions, but a genuinely nice person. He always had a smile on his face and he took the time to chat with us and the other patrons. A great hole in the wall find!

We were in the mood for good clam chowder and a quick meal. This place was great. I had the calamari and chips and it was the best fried calamari I have ever had. The portion was huge too. My wife had the fish and chips and it was fantastic. We were in a hurry and didn't pay close attention to what others were having but the place was busy inside and out. I would love to go back my next time in the Monterey area.

After a 33 mile bike ride my husband and I were hungry. And the Seaside Seafood and Market did not disappoint. I ordered the country fried fish and garlic chips. Fantastic! Big pieces of fish and tons of garlic fries, lightly buttered and seasoned with garlic. Top it off with eating outside and Diet Coke with lemon! I wouldn't change a thing!! You HAVE TO COME HERE! The cook and waitress were darling too!!
Passing through town for lunch and so glad we found this spot. Diverse menu, seafood, soul food, and great service. Outdoor seating was great and very nice inside seating as well. I loved the black eyed peas and rice. So much so, I'd like to recommend we get more peas. I'm a southern girl, born and raised in Texas, so we like our portions of peas to be BIGGER! Looking forward coming back.

Wow! We stopped in on a whim with four adults and two young kids. Everything was absolutely excellent. Portions are more than generous and prices are quite reasonable. The fish tasted fresh and was not greasy. It can be so hard to find fish and chips that isn't dripping in grease, but this place nails it. The kids were happy with their chicken strips and fries and the server was lovely. She was knowledgeable about the menu and took care to help one member of our party find gluten free options for her meal. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant.

My teens and I were visiting Monterey and wanted to try the local sea food. Decided to try this place. It's not fancy at all. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The waitress was really nice and on top of things. We all ordered clam chowder and it was good. I ordered the battered fish and chips but upgraded to garlic fries. The garlic fries were good but the fish was just okay. I've had better out of a box. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had liked the tartar sauce but it had a mustard flavor to it that I didn't like. My kids didn't like the tartar either. My son got the country fried fish and chips and didn't care much for it either. My daughter got the calamari and garlic fries and she said the calamari was very bland. Overall I would not recommend it. It was $100 for mediocre food.

Stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. Wife had the local cod fish and garlic fries. Very fresh fish with a crispy beer batter. I got the calamari strips and garlic fries. Crunchy crisp crust and tender calamari. Friendly staff and bright and clean decor. Didn't have a chance to try the shrimp and grits. Next time!
