When first arriving, you feel transported to a new area with fresh ingredients and an amazing spot where you can see the chefs making the sushi. One of the major parts is the names of the sushi. Every time I go, I order something new, not knowing what I'll get, but it is a well-earned surprise. I recommend a sushi roll called Dark Knight if it's your first time as this is a very nice dish which will open your taste to a wider variety.

It's my favorite place to grab sushi at. The owner is so nice and he recognizes certain orders if you're a regular and order take out. He's always wanting to know how the food is and if you're enjoying it. Also, the wait staff takes great care of you when dining in and has no issues with helping you modify a roll or recommend one that suits what you want and they make sure to double check they got it right before placing it with the chef. They always have fresh ingredients and it's never smelled like old fish in here. My favorite thing to order is their bay Bridge or the beast, both of which are on the specials list and worth every penny.
We were within the area and searching for Japanese cravings. Found this at the corner of the one story building. We were able to sit in outright. Would rate the overall food at 4 stars, but, the cleanliness, a 2. Hence, my 3 stars for this experience. Beneath our table was super sticky and messy. The bathroom was full and overflowing with trash. The service was good. The waitresses kept on checking up on us. Would say this is a busy dine in restau. For sure, they could do better and would be able to catch up cleaning if we were not in busy time frame. Otherwise, good experience for a party of seven.

Sushi was excellent, we got 6 rolls, including the Incredible, Black Knight, California, and Hulk (which was surprisingly good, given it's description). Service was also excellent, they were very on top of everything, and the food came out fast.

Sat in booth by kitchen entrance and wall was smeared with food and dirty. Not appetizing to see smeared food on walls.

Toyo Sushi has fast become not only my favorite sushi spot in Stockton but one of my favorite restaurants anywhere! The sushi is fresh and delightful to the tastebuds. The one thing that AMAZES me though is the customer service. On just our second trip in they remembered that I like substituting soy wrap on any rolls that I get. Even now months later they always know what I like. It’s hard to find places like this anymore. It looks like just a hole in the wall across from Starbucks but in my opinion it doesn’t get any better for sushi in the City of Stockton.

Just a great sushi restaurant, I'm bummed that it took us three years to find it. Fantastic miso soup. Excellent sashimi. And we love the rolls. We have eaten here and we have gotten take away, both times it's a remarkable experience. When we dined there, it really felt like we were guests, not just customers.
Toyo Sushi has a wide variety of special sushi and great service. I wouldn’t order their chicken teriyaki bowl though, it isn’t very good.
