Hakata Ikkousha is one of the staple ramen places in Torrance and one that I love a lot. I really love the ramen and the broth as well. However, this ramen is super heavy, though. The broth is really strong and not super clean like other ramen, so if you like stronger more oily broths, this would be the place to go. Really good karrage as well.

I used to order and pick up a bunch food here most of the time for our company lunch. Only flaws is the employee dosen't care to send you outside to wait even its raining hard even there is space inside and its just only me. And i dont have place to go to take shelter from the rain. They only care about business they dont care about the costumer safety and well being. Food is good but Im disappointed with the service and how they treat costumers so badly. I feel bad if its and elderly person will be treated the same way.

The food was EXCELLENT!!However you need to be careful how you order your broth spice level and confirm the level with your waiter.I ordered level two and assumed it would come out pretty mild. I don't believe I got the level two. It came out as a level 4! So hot that I couldn't enjoy my food.I honestly think the cook or waiter didn't pay attention to the spice level requested on the sheet.I eat spicy daily and this was definitely not a mild heat level.I asked the waiter to bring out a non spicy broth (vs him taking the whole thing back) so I can transfer my food into a milder broth. The waiter brought a small bowl of broth which didn't make sense!? SMH!I was not able to fit my ramen in this bowl with the broth!I had to again, ask for a larger bowl to transfer the ramen out from the super spicy broth. It was pretty annoying to have to keep asking for what I needed. He works there and should know to bring a larger bowl for the transfer. But again, the food was excellent.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows about this ramen spot! It's iconic if you know about this place. I love the Tonkotsu ramen and how rich and flavorful it is! The service is good and I definitely recommend coming in during their non peak hours as it does get busy during certain times (it's small inside so they don't have a lot of room). Overall, I definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area!

Love this place! This is our go to spot in the South Bay. Get the God Fire if you like it spicy!

The place was packed with people. But their service was fast and friendly. The food was amazing! Ordered hard noodle with mentaiko (recommend this one more if you like creamy soup base) and black devil (strong sesame flavor, can be slightly bitter, but i enjoyed it).Favorite part is the karaage , slightly on the saltier side, very crunchy & juicy!

I love the MENTAI TONKOTSU plus I did 2 rounds of the chicken karaage, crunchy on the outside juicy in the inside Sorry no visual - all done! Burp!

I must say thanks to my coworker Jerry for reminding me there are other ramen options in the South Bay. This spot is located in a shopping center with many other Japanese restaurants so you know the quality and service is very good. They were very attentive and accurate. The ambiance feels like you got transported to an actual establishment in Tokyo. As for the food, I tried the miso tonkatsu and it was super clean and portions were larger than I expected. Noodles were cooked to my liking and the soft egg was perfect. My ramen also came with a chashu bowl but I forgot to take a picture. Huge cuts of meat and the rice was the right amount in relation to the meat. I'll be back

Hakata Ikkousha ramen is most likely the best ramen place I have eaten in the United States, having a variety of choices of soups and noodles and an abundant amount of customization. I always love getting their God fire ramen/Black Devil at level 4 spicy since it gives a delicious hot kick, if you do not like spicy though I seriously recommend their black garlic as it is a unique and slightly sweet ramen (I'll try to take a photo next time) that allows you to take a break from eating only tonkatsu. You can also choose the richness of your soup, firmness of your noodles, and how much spring onion you get (I will have a photo of the menu soon). They have a lunch combo that is really affordable ($18-$19) that offers a small side (the one I got was the curry katsu) and a ramen bowl! I also usually get their premium toppings providing a runny, savory, and creamy egg, plus four pieces of lean chashu (WHICH I LOVEEE!!!). Overall, Hakata Ikkousha ramen is a ramen place that I cannot describe it's greatness with merely some words, I will always come here when I am ever craving a undoubtedly delicious bowl of ramen!
