been here a couple times now and think this place is great. a little pricy, but i know rent and other overhead costs are very high these days. i had the nicois salad each time and it was very good. fresh fish and veg, evev green beens are green not gray like most places. ill be back and hope they keep up the quality as high in the future as it is now. great job chefs.

The best vegan place I've tried so far in the Bay Area. Food is great, flavorful, beautiful presentation and most importantly: affordable! Pleasant ambiance too. I greatly recommend it whether you're a vegan or not. I'm sure you're going to like it anyway.

RIP, Souplantation. They were my source for healthy-ish meals for the past 20+ years. Starting in college all the way to this year, it was the place I went when I got that feeling that I needed to eat something healthy. You see, for a single guy who is a pretty traditional American eater (red meat, take-out, etc.), eating healthy once or twice a week at home is a pain in the a*** You either spend way too much on pre-packaged salads that suck, or to make your own, you have to buy enough vegetables to feed a family and eat it all by yourself before it spoils. I'm usually not committed to eating healthy over a period of time, so most of it just goes in the trash.Enter Souplantation. Perfect for the occasional healthy meal. For about $12 you would get a huge salad buffet along with about 8 different soups, some faux pizza, fresh baked breads and muffins, and a few choices for dessert. Grab the coupon from the mail and throw in a free drink. The strawberry lemonade was the s**** It was so good that back in the day they kept it behind the counter. It was the only thing in the place you couldn't serve yourself.Not only was Souplantation my go-to for a healthy meal, it was a place where I went with my friends. Either in college or before everyone got married, it was a cheap place to hang out and people watch and talk some s**** I remember one friend semi-jokingly argue the point that Souplantation was a racist name. Checking out fellow diners was always fun. Back then we went to the Brentwood location. It was mostly families, but occasionally you'd come across some crazies or someone that was entertaining to watch..."Hey, check out that guy. He just took an entire tray of blueberry muffins. You think he's a serial killer?" S*** like that. Anyway, I'll miss the place and all buffets, I suppose. Imagine finding a wife and starting a family just so I can eat healthy regularly. With Souplantation gone, that option just moved up one spot on the list. S****

So sad to see Souplantation close permanently. My family and I have been coming to this location for 10 years or more. I looked forward to our weekly visits. We got to know so many of the people that worked there and were like family. Thank you Souplanation for a wonderful dining experience, great conversations and healthy food for a great price! I will miss you tremendously.

I admire this venue a lot. It has a nice ambiance. The kitcen is exeptionaly good. the service is powerful and the waiters are well trained. The pay is modest. I warmly recommend.
Was maybe my favorite restaurant in Torrance and now permanently closed due to Covid-19. I used to download the coupon for one adult and one child with drinks for $16.99 for my son and I. Great deal, good food, comfortable place. It's a big loss, probably my primary source of vegetables when going out to eat. You can pay that much at any fast food restaurant for two people but the quality and variety aren't even close. Was like a buffet for healthier people.

Terrible customer service. The female worker there with a buzz cut came charging up to me to yell in front of everyone (it was a busy weekend afternoon and I normally went on week day lunches) that I could not sit down. She yelled "You can't sit here! You need to move!". I was confused and embarrassed. And she repeated and explained a few "rules". I had taken a seat at an empty table with my 1 year old, stroller and huge diaper bag so that I could rest while I fed her and my husband paid. Turns out it was arranged seating but I wasn't aware and I would have appreciated if she came to tell me like a regular person and not causing a scene. She avoided passing by our table after that. I'm sure she realized her behavior was ridiculous.Upon leaving the manager asked how the experience was while waking out and the same female worker with a buzz cut so happen to be passing by at the same time. She look a anxious as to expect if complain about her but I just smiled and said "it was good. Thank you" and left.It was such an awkward and uncomfortable experience.I never went back after this incident and told others about my experience.

I always enjoy my time at Souplantation and this location provided a quality experience. Food was fresh, set up was clean and well kept, and there was always food ready and available when you went up. I and a friend went close to dinner time and there was plenty of seating and service. We ended staying a few hours taking and enjoying the atmosphere; we were able to take our time and enjoy our meal. No rushing, no over crowded space. Just a great meal at a quality location!

As a new vegan(-ish), this place is literally heaven. The salad bar is great for me to know which options are vegan. I love the idea of a healthy buffet. It's entertaining to see guests eat the food and trying to improve themselves as better people, if they don't get the pasta and desert in the second bar. I miss the hanging price menu behind the cashier. The only issue I have is personal: it's walking around the dining area because of the awkward situations I can get into. Other than that, this restaurant is great. I was surprised of the renovated restrooms.
